Whether you like President Bush or not, you must respect the man. He is in my opinion one of the most unusual Presidents of our era. What makes him unusual is that he does what he says he will do. He is a man of his word, and has great conviction of his beliefs. Many at this time are on the bandwagon of being against the war, although the House Republicans demonstrated that the carping liberals were not people of any consistency of belief, when they called for a vote on pulling out of Iraq that was overwhelmingly defeated. Those who were in the media crying about the war, when it came to it had to vote for it to save their political hides.

President Bush, in contrast, acts on what he truly believes, right or wrong. I have a great respect for someone who truly believes in what they are doing. But last week in China what our President did gave me even more respect and admiration for him. He went to church. Now he did not go to an underground church, it was a government registered church, but reportedly it was a Christian church. This was an incredible statement made by the President as China is a communist country that is very hostile to Christianity. In fact it is one of the leading persecutors of the church. You check any website that deals with persecution of the church and China is a regular on their news cycle.

But President Bush did not just go to church in China. When he signed the guest book he wrote these remarkable words: "May God bless the Christians of China." Incredible! That is courage of conviction. That is a man who has the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ in mind. The propaganda PRAVDA like media in our country did not say much about it, but it was one of the boldest moments in our history. Well done Mr. President!
