POLLY WANT A CRACKER?
There is a story from London, it is reported in the Telegraph News. It is a love story. A love story between Suzy and Chris, that has gone bad. It seems that Chris has a Parrot named Ziggy. A few months ago Ziggy began to say the name Gary. When the phone rang Ziggy would say "Hi Ya Gary". Not much was thought of it until around Christmas when Ziggy blurted out " I love you Gary", while Chris and Suzy sat on the couch. Chris looked at Suzy and she just ran out of the room, only to shortly confess to the truth that she had been seeing Gary on the side, but wanted to stay with Chris. The bird had exposed her discretion. At least that is how it is reported.
I would take a different slant on it. I would say that God was in the process of showing all involved the truth Gods Word tells us, that our sins will find us out. That we cannot hide them or hide from them. God will expose them all eventually, but He knows about all of them now! This is a key truth to understand, that can actually bring freedom. Once you realize God knows, you are free to live that life of repentance from that besetting sin.
It is also interesting in the reporting to see the lack of concern for two people living together outside of the bounds of marriage, which I believe is a lost concern for society in general. But tragically I believe is has become a lost concern for the Church. The Church should be as passionately opposed to the epidemic of people living together in sexual immorality before marriage, as it is any other immorality, but you scarce find a mention of that anywhere. I think tragically the Church has made peace with that sinful lifestyle, to the extent that in many places it is simply accepted within the body of believers.
Well Chris got rid of Ziggy and Suzy. Maybe God is going to teach him that his true contentment is not in a bird or a bird brained girlfriend, but in the Lord Jesus Christ! And maybe the Lord is going to teach Suzy that Jesus Christ died at Calvary for sinners like her, that adultresses are not beyond the love of God in Christ Jesus!
