Today is June 6th, 2006 and here is the tragedy of today, what people are focused on. Everywhere I look I am seeing something on 666. People worried about what will happen today, churches praying "through" the day. All of this displays a terrible understanding of biblical truth, as well as our calendar. And frankly, it is another indication of how historically illiterate we have become. June 6th is an incredible day in the history of not only our country, but the world. It is the day of the D-Day invasion of Normandy, from the encyclopedia we read of a day;

" with the simultaneous landing of U.S., British, and Canadian forces on five separate beachheads in Normandy, France. By the end of August 1944 all of northern France was liberated, and the invading forces reorganized for the drive into Germany, where they would eventually meet with Soviet forces advancing from the east to bring an end to the Nazi Reich."

Sixty two years ago today, brave soldiers followed orders, many of them to a certain death, but all of them had a part in changing the course of the world. Can you imagine this world had there not been a D-Day? Can you imagine this world if Hitler had succeeded and conquered it? Today is wasted with talk about 666, when it should be about the brave soldiers who gave their all at Normandy! May God bless those who are still with us and the families of those who have departed. And to all of them we say thank you for your courageous, heroic service!

blog you later,
