Today I give you a rare Saturday post, as my schedule has been such as to make it difficult to keep on track with the day to day blogging. But I am determined to get back on track! There is a great story coming out of Florida this week. Andrew Killinger and Samual Ard, are fourth-graders at Maclay School in Tallahassee. They were working on a project on the Florida state motto, "In God We Trust". The problem was they couldn't find the motto in the laws. So they spoke to their parents who contacted a local legislator and started the process of getting it adopted. In God We Trust, has been used in Florida by custom since the mid to late 1800's, but it had never been adopted as the official state motto. Governor Jeb Bush said. "Thanks to their efforts . . . we will sign this bill into law".

And so this is now the official state motto of Florida. Surprisingly it passed overwhelming in the state legislature and there was no great outcry from those whom you would suspect. It goes to show you that you are never too young to make a difference. And maybe, just maybe, the lack of public outcry against the motto, and the ease of passage through government is an indication that all is not lost in our great country yet. You can only pray that it is so!

blog you later,
