I had the privilege of having David Parker as a guest on the radio show today. I kept him on the entire hour which tells you he was a great guest. For those that are unaware of who he is, he is a dad. A dad that did not like the idea of his son in kindergarten learning about homosexuality. A children's book that taught about the virtues of homosexuality was in a bag that was given to all of the students. David and his wife asked the school to please notify them when this would be taught so they could have their child opt out. A simple common sense request that was summarily dismissed. The public school of Lexington Massachusetts did not believe the Parkers had the right to know what was being taught, nor when. To make a long story short, David a few months later was arrested at the school, when he insisted that they agree to his request that they notify him and his wife when they would be teaching about homosexuality to the kindergarten class. I do not need to explain to you how right the Parkers were and how wrong the school system was. But this does remind those of us who live in this state how few rights we have left.

Governor Romney is being hailed for the mandatory health insurance bill he signed, requiring every citizen to have insurance or be penalized. Shouldn't someone be able to decide for themselves and their family if they want to have health insurance or not? Don't they have the right to decide that? Not any longer in this state! It all fits nicely with a legislature that denies people the right to vote, as they did on July 12th. This is why I started "Let the People Vote", political action committee. We will be having three press conferences this week to formally announce Let the People Vote. If you are for the right to vote, come on out to one of them to show your support. The schedule is;

Wed. 9:00 am State House Boston
Wed 11:oo am City Hall Worcester
Thurs 10:00 am City Hall Spfld

Come on out and make all of those politicians in this state take notice that we are no longer going to sit back and allow them to dictate to the people. As for David Parker, he is an example of how the Lord will use someone who will stand up for the truth and what is right. Please visit his website www.davidparker.org for more information and how you might be able to help him and his family! I hope to see many of you this week.

Yesterday The state Supreme Court decided 5-4 that Washington's law limiting marriage to one man and one woman does not violate the state constitution. Well boys and girls, that makes twenty out of twenty! That's right, twenty out of twenty times that the issue has gone before the voters, they have voted to outlaw homosexual marriage, or uphold a traditional view of marriage. This is what the politicians of Massachusetts and the homosexual activists, who are in bed together (pun intended) understand all too well. If the question of a definition of marriage comes to the ballot, as it could in 2008 if you the voter take action, it will be overwhelmingly voted for as one man and one woman. The reason is that this is how God intended for marriage to be, it is His definition. But the cowardly, disingenuous politicians of Massachusetts do not want the voters to be able to vote, so they postponed until November 9th. But this time they will not get away with it, the Political Action Committee, Let the People Vote is up and running. Its purpose is to support those candidates who support our right to vote and see that those who do not support that right are looking for work come November 8th! Go to www.letsvote.org and get involved, start with a donation to fund the war-chest of the people to go to war with this fall. The state of Washington is not unique, in fact that is the norm of our country, it is the state of Massachusetts that is out of step with reality, lets bring some reality to some people!

In the midst of an incredibly troubling situation there has finally come some sanity. Sixteen year old Abraham Cherrix suffers from Hodgkins Cancer. He has had a round of chemotherapy and according to him, it almost killed him. It was a terrible experience, that led him to search out other remedies. What he and his family found was an alternative treatment that is diet and herb based. He has been on that for a while and his cancer has gotten no worse. A social worker who found out what they were doing for treatment reported him and his family to the Virgina DSS. Amazingly the DSS took the family to court, accusing them of being negligent parents for not having Abraham go through more chemotherapy, and they won! That's right, a judge found the family guilty of negligence and gave part of his custody for DSS. They were prepared to force this young man to undergo more chemotherapy against his wishes. Abraham said;

"I'm not going to receive chemotherapy no matter what. This is my body, the body that God gave to me, and in the Bible it says for me to take care of this body. It's my temple. ... If you are not able to do with your body what you want to, then you have no rights whatsoever."

Abraham at sixteen has more sense than most of the adults he has to deal with in this court battle. Well today, some relief came when Accomack County Circuit Court Judge Glen A. Taylor set aside an order by a juvenile court requiring Abraham to report to a hospital today. The judge set a trial date of Aug. 16. But Abraham is only getting temporary relief. While it is great that he is not being forced today to go have chemo, he still has a court battle to fight. Should he and his family lose this case it will be proof that we officially live in the era of big brother. The fact that they have to go to court indicates the same. Where does it stop? It is not hard to imagine the government coming in and dictating that you must teach your children diversity training, embracing the abnormal lifestyle of homosexuality, or you will be found negligent and lose custody of them. It is not hard to imagine parents being brought to court and losing custody due to the Judeo-Christian education they are giving their children. These are troubling times that call for the people to take back control of a country thy have lost.

On that note it has been encouraging to already be receiving such positive response to the "Let the People Vote" political action committee that I am forming. Go to www.letsvote.org and check it out. Some of you have asked if their is a limit on donations. You cannot donate more than $500.00 as an individual. Go to the website and see how you can be involved. It is time for us to act, to draw a line in the sand and say no more, it stops here!

Well the time has come for all of us to get involved. I am happy to let all that read the blog know that I am creating a Political Action Committee,
"Let the People Vote". The goal is simple, make the politicians of Massachusetts accountable for their dismissal of the over 170,000 people who signed a petition seeking an opportunity to vote. July 12, many of the politicians voted to put off the dealing with the petition on the definition of marriage until two days after the election, November 9th. I am sure they were counting on a couple of things. First they believed that no one would pay attention to what they did and secondly they believed they could convince the electorate that they were truly trying to let the people vote.

What they did not count on was the "Let the People Vote" PAC. A political action committee that would bring together all of the citizens in the state of Mass and elsewhere who still believe the people have the fundamental constitutional right to vote, and that the politicians should represent the will of the people. Ultimately what they did not count on was you being involved in the process. So it is very simple, go to the website of the PAC which is www.letsvote.org. There you will find an introductory letter from me, and also you will be able to find out who your reps are and how they voted. It is all listed there by city and town, very user friendly. Remember as you look at the list, the politicians that voted yes to adjourn until November, do not want you to have the right to vote. Those that voted no, against adjourning, are for your right to vote. There is also an address there that you can send donations to. The true power of this PAC will be in the people donating, giving us the power to not only give money to politicians who are for our right to vote, but also giving us the power to create ads for radio and television.

Money talks in this process, and this is how we will make our voice heard. Believe me, if we do the right thing and get involved, we can take our state back. It is time that we the people insist on our fundamental, constitutional rights. So I invite you to be a part of the solution to the problem that is many of the politicians of our state.

19 minutes?

Frightening news from a study in Britain reveals the following;

"Parents who work full-time spend just 19 minutes every day "caring for [their] own children", according to ONS's "Time Use Survey", published yesterday.
A further 16 minutes is spent looking after their children as a "secondary activity", but this means that they are doing something else - such as the weekly supermarket shop - at the same time."

A whopping 19 minutes a day spent by parents each day caring for their children. The sobering reality of a study like this is that there are some not even spending the 19 minutes a day with their children. And what becomes of these children? What effect does this all have in society? The answers to these questions I believe are seen everywhere today in the materialistic, me first, culture that has been cultivated by parents neglecting their children. We see today the family unit has been devalued. No longer do families live near each other. They are spread all over the world as they pursue the almighty dollar.

These are the things our children learn when we spend no more than 19 minutes a day with them. And if we are spending so little time, how much influence do we really have over them? More frightening is the question of who then, will be the ones to influence them, as they are or will be spending a lot more than 19 minutes with somebody. The question becomes are you willing to give your children over to whomever that might be? The better option is to commit today to a lot more than 19 minutes with your children. It is the best investment you will ever make.

In what has become an incredibly un-republican republican congress, the Senate today has passed the Stem Cell bill. What this bill would do is to increase Federal spending for Embryonic Stem cell research, the biggest shell game going. There is maybe no other issue that has had more disinformation put out than Embryonic Stem Cell research If you were to believe everything you read in the media on this you would think that we are on the verge of major medical breakthroughs. You would believe that everything from Parkinsons to Alheizmers is about to be cured, and the only thing holding these miracle cures back is President Bush.

The reality of this shell game is that there is no documented proof anywhere of Embryonic Stem Cells working to cure anything! What there is proof of is that Adult Stem Cells work. Adult Stem Cells that are available in mass quantities in, you guessed it, adults. Adult Stem Cells that are able to be harvested without taking a life, in contrast to Embryonic Stem Cells that require killing the human being that is the Embryo. So the adult kind works, the embryonic kind has no proof of working, yet the push is to expand funding from our government for the kind that does not work and requires taking life to do the research.

Incredibly the Senate is for this, and thankfully our President is going to use his first veto on this bill. It is the height of irresponsible governing for the Senate to pass this bill, let alone come to the microphones and speak as if it there is great promise in this type of research. So as you dialog about this issue with those around you, and I hope you do, the talking points are simple;

1. Embryonic Stem Cell has no proof of ever working, but requires taking life.
2. Adult Stem Cell has already been proven to work and requires no taking of life and is readily available in all of us.
3. To buy into the Embryonic Stem Cell plan is to be a mark in their shell game!

As Israel fights a war on both of its borders,Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert is faced with a moment that defines leaders as great or something far less. Olmert is faced with a war with Iran. Some of you are saying, 'wait a minute I thought the war was against Hamas from Palestine and Hezbollah in Lebanon'. Technically that is true as those are the declared enemies that are doing the fighting against Israel, but the reality is that both of those organizations are fronts for Iran. Without a doubt this is an orchestrated attack on Israel put together by Iran and its crazed leader,Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Today Prime Minister Olmert stepped up to the challenge with these defining words;

"Citizens of Israel, there are moments in the life of a nation, when it is compelled to look directly into the face of reality and say: Enough," he said.
"And I say to everyone: Enough is enough. Israel will not be held hostage, not by terror gangs or by a terrorist authority or by any sovereign state."

What this means is that we are on the verge of World War III. Should Olmert stick to his declaration, he will lead Israel in a war to do away with Hezbollah and Hamas, which brings Iran and Syria into picture. Add to the mix North Korea and their defiant stance on nuclear weapons and you have a recipe for a global war. There is more, consider the fact that Pakistann and India are ratcheting up their bravado with each other.

These are times when great leaders step forward and pretenders are exposed. It is in times like these that we are fortunate to have George Bush as our President.
While I have made no secret of my disagreements with the President on certain issues, I still believe he is a great wartime President. Unlike administrations of old, President Bush has stood by Israel publicly laying the blame where it belongs, on the terrorist aggressors. It is only a matter of time before this powder keg blows up into a full blown World War, which makes me glad that it is President Bush that "reports for duty" each day, as opposed to John Kerry, who by now would have been for Israel as well as against them!

So pray, for Israel, for our President, and that the Lord Jesus Christ would come soon.

Yesterday in a surprising and yet not surprising move the manipulative, politicians that make up the majority of the Massachusetts legislature moved the amendment to vote on the definition of marriage to November. They recessed without dealing with an amendment that came with a petition of 170,000 people. To be clear what they refused to deal with yesterday was allowing the people to vote. What should have happened at the convention yesterday was they should have dealt with the amendment and put it to a vote of the legislature. If 25% or 50 voted in favor then it would move to the same process next year. If 25% voted again in favor then in 2008 the people of the state would be able to vote. It is a well defined constitutional process that the politicians aborted!

What they also could have done was recess to Monday, which was proposed, but voted down. In all of their slippery wisdom they recessed until after the November elections, as transparent and slimy a move that I have seen in all of my years of watching politics. So what can we do? Here is my plan. Find out all of the politicians that either voted down the recess for Monday or in favor of the November date, and work to see them removed from office. For some reading this that might mean you need to run, for others it could be getting involved in campaigns with time and funds. But if you are living in the state of Massachusetts, and you choose not to get in the fight, then do not complain at the outcome! I will make it my business on my radio show and to whomever I speak with to do everything in my power to see that every spineless politician that disenfranchised the voters yesterday are all looking for job come November, I invite you to join me in the battle. Step one, find out how your representatives voted.

He is the head of one of the largest house-church networks estimated to have more than 10 million members. He has been well known by the international community as one of the house-church patriarchs. He is a co-author of the book "House Churches of China's Confession of Faith and Declaration" in 1999. He has been featured in a number of international articles and books, including "Jesus in Beijing" (2003) by former Time magazine writer David Aikman, Newsweek (May 12, 2004), Charisma and Christianity Today. And on July 4th he was sentenced to seven and one half years in prison in China, charged with "attaining a passport through cheating" and with "illegal border crossing" for his international traveling including to the U.S., Australia, Egypt and Singapore for world mission conferences. Pastor Zhang Rongliang is 55 and no stranger to imprisonment. He has already spent 12 years in prison for his faith since his secret baptism in 1969 during five separate detentions. He has experienced extreme torture, including electric shocks, during his prison terms.

A great reminder to us of the suffering that our brothers and sisters go through all of the time for their faith in Christ. God in His sovereignty has not allowed most of us to face any real persecution, but for others in our family it is a continual way of life. I encourage you to pray today for this pastor, his family and others who today will be treated in the most inhumane ways simply because they follow Jesus. I also wonder just how it is the rest of the western world can idly sit by, doing nothing but giving an occasional verbal statement of disappointment with China's actions. China is a rogue Communist state that is one of the leading persecutors of Christians in the world and should be called such and treated as such.

In these the lazy hazy days of summer, there is a very important event happening in the state of Massachusetts. It is the constitutional convention that will meet this week, beginning July 12th. At this convention the legislature is scheduled to take up the issue of the constitutional amendment offered by the Mass Family institute. They gathered 170,000 signatures in order to have the people of the state be able to have the right to vote on a definition of marriage that would define it correctly, as between only one man and one woman. The homosexual activists have come out in droves to opposed this amendment, which is a transparent display of who they truly are.

The amendment is simply to allow the people to vote, which is the foundation of our great country. The homosexual activists have gone to court, and lost, trying to stop the people of the state from voting. Think with me for a moment, who are the ones who want to deny people the right to vote? In today's world it would be North Korea's Kim Jong Yil, or Cuba's Fidel Castro. Those, and others like them are the ones who deny the people the right to vote. Why do the homosexuals not want it to come to a vote? Simply because they know they will lose, because their views of marriage are perverse and blasphemous. My suggestion would be if they are against people being able to vote, they should move to those countries that better align with their views on such "radical democracy"!

Another busy week keeps me from blogging for a few days, but here is a rare Saturday post to make up for my "tardiness". It is rare that I go to the movies let alone recommend a movie for people to see, but today I am going to make a strong recommendation. First, let me say that the movie I am recommending has a few parts that are borderline, but there is no nudity and little profanity. Second, I believe that this is a movie that all fathers should go and see, particularly if they still have children living at home. The movie is "Clicked", starring Adam Sandler. It is a movie with a message that every Dad needs to hear, see and experience. So this quick blog on the weekend is to encourage Dads to take their wives and make a date night out of seeing "Clicked". I believe that this is a movie that could have more of a positive effect on Dads than any book, seminar or counseling appointment ever could. Check it out, you will not be sorry that you did, and your children and your wife will thank you for it!

We have recently heard much about Enron in the recent past. It was the company of the future, creating incredible profits and making the common worker rich. Employees of Enron gained enormous nest eggs through the company's profit sharing plan. Enron had a Major League baseball stadium named after it and things could not have been better for the company from the CEO Ken Lay, down to the employees washing the floors. We all know what happened, and Enron went from a worldwide powerhouse to a punchline on the Tonight Show. More seriously many of the top executives were arrested and convicted for white collar crimes, gaining them real jail time.

Ken Lay recently had his trial where he, like the others, was found guilty of six counts of fraud and conspiracy, carrying a possible 45 years of jail. An amazing fall for someone whose net worth was around 400 million at one point. Well today we hear the news that Ken Lay the former CEO of Enron has died of a sudden heart attack. Certainly tragic news for his family and friends and we should pray for them. But this brings to mind the Word of God where the story is told by Jesus of a man who had it all, but all was not enough. The man who had it all and wanted just a little more and then he would be satisfied, but God intervened and called the man a fool , telling him that his life would be required that day.

What good is a life of pursuing money and things when your life is required today? What are you spending your time on? What is the passionate pursuit of our lives? The day requiring our souls is coming to all of us as it did Ken Lay. On that day what will you have to show for the life you lived, a life lived for the glory of God, or a bunch of stuff and a nice tan?

As a part of my daily devotional time, after I have spent time in the Word of God, I like to read from the daily reading books of Calvin, Edwards and Luther. Today it was interesting to read from Luther as he worked with Ecclesiastes 7:10;

"Do not say, 'Why is it that the former days were better than these?' For it is not from wisdom that you ask about this."

He makes the great point that every generation believes that things were better when they were younger, or "in the good old days". He writes;
"Things never really went that well. We only realize how bad things are now because as we grow older, the number of things that annoy us also increases....The world has always been filled with troubles, but we haven't always been aware of them all."

It is an important reminder to us that sin has always been here and the world has always been affected and infected by it. Our place is not to spend all of our time looking back with rose colored glassed at the "good old days", but rather to see how the Lord would use us in these days to display His glory. Because it is true that those days of old were not that good. Think about it, do you want to go back to the good old fifties? Back then black people could not ride in the front of the bus, nor drink out of the same water bubbler, nor eat in the same restaurants as white people. I could go on and on, but Luther was right, the world has always been wicked. It has always been in need of Salt and Light, which those who follow Him truly are. So,true believers in Christ, live what you are now, that the sinful evil world may see Him!
