I love this, from the wires;

"Beta carotene and vitamins A and E, antioxidant supplements taken by millions to fight disease, may actually raise the risk of death, a review of 68 studies on nearly a quarter-million people by a study from the Center for Clinical Intervention Research at Denmark's Copenhagen University Hospital. released Tuesday."

Now there are the usual arguments and dissension when any study comes out. That the testing was done on people already sick, it does not make sense etc. But there is something noteworthy here and that is that no one really ever seems to know what is good for you. Think about it, during your lifetime how many contradictions and flip flops have you seen? (no offense John Kerry) Coffee is bad, no Coffee is good. Eggs are bad, no eggs are good no they are bad. Chocolate is bad, no chocolate is good it has ant-oxidants in it. Wine is bad, no wine is good in moderation for your heart. Meat is bad, no it is good, no it is bad. Carbs are good, carbs are bad, now they are on the rise again as being good. You get the point.

The point is that you can not live your life around the latest greatest finding, fad, or study when it comes to food, or anything for that matter. The fact we put too much emphasis on and give to much credit to the so called experts is seen in the way people will radically change their lifestyles over one study. Not bothering to do any research and find out who paid for the study and what are they really trying to accomplish. A little research goes a long way. Personally I would suggest relaxing with a bottle of Diet Coke and a box of Swiss Cake Rolls, the latest studies from the "Tom Crouse Institute of Living" suggests that though you might die from them, you will die happy!

Here is a good snapshot of how our young people are developing, this from wires concerning a study of narcissism among college kids;

"We need to stop endlessly repeating 'You're special' and having children repeat that back," said the study's lead author, Professor Jean Twenge of San Diego State University. "Kids are self-centered enough already."

Twenge and her colleagues, in findings to be presented at a workshop Tuesday in San Diego on the generation gap, examined the responses of 16,475 college students nationwide who completed an evaluation called the Narcissistic Personality Inventory between 1982 and 2006."

While there are some obvious positives to confidence this study gives evidence as to the damage done in relationships by those scoring high on this test. The study asserts that narcissists "are more likely to have romantic relationships that are short-lived, at risk for infidelity, lack emotional warmth, and to exhibit game-playing, dishonesty, and over-controlling and violent behaviors." We see that narcissists tend to lack empathy, react aggressively to criticism and favor self-promotion over helping others. This inevitably affects and infects a culture. The researchers are claiming that this is the result of the self esteem movement of the 1980's. It is the movement gone bad.

The greater problem as I see it, is that this has crept into our churches. We have mega churches preaching a narcissistic Gospel. Your best life now, the power of positive thinking, speaking victory into your situation etc. I could go on and on but this self esteem movement is not just affecting the culture of those who have grown up under it. This is impacting churches as people are being led astray with a false Gospel. People are residing in churches that have taught and are teaching them that they deserve to have all the earthly rewards they can get, because they deserve it. The reason these "churches" explode is that the message resonats to the way many of the attendees have been raised. They have been raised by permissive parents who have made them idols. So of course they love these narcissistic churches.

The problem for them is that the Gospel, the one Jesus preached is far different than what they are taught. Jesus said to count the cost, to follow Him would mean to be hated and persecuted. To be outcasts of the synagogue, which means social, familial and even religious ostracizing. Not the easy road preached by the false teachers of our day. Jesus also said that our life here should be about laying up treasures in Heaven, not on Earth! Again strikingly different from the heretics who promote the self exalting, self promoting Gospel.

Yes the young people, the college age are more narcissistic than ever, but the bigger news is that this trend has impacted the Church. The answer as always, is to return to the Word of God. To preach, teach and to live what is stayed, sure and absolute!

James Cameron of Titanic fame will today have a press conference to announce the finding of the place of Jesus burial. He will also advocate the worn out theory that Jesus was married and had children, along the same lines of the Davinci Code. While I will not spend time in this blog refuting Cameron's assertions, I think some things are worth noting. First, it is amazing how many people will still believe theories like this one, that have been so clearly and thoroughly debunked a number of times. It exposes the lack of cognitive ability in our world today. There will be, without a doubt, people today who will see the headlines, hear the soundbite and come away believing Jesus was married, had children, and had a grave site with both his wife and children. This goes back to an earlier blog about the lack of reading in our society today. Theories like this one being accepted is the inevitable consequence of a dumbed down society that no longer reads.

The other noteworthy aspect of this is the longetivity of Jesus as subject matter. He just keeps coming back as a topic in many forms and in a variety of genres. People cannot get enough of Jesus. Have you ever considered why? Why is it that people are fascinated with Him, and have a burning passion to disprove the Gospel accounts of His life? The answer is twofold, first people cannot get enough of Him because He is a real and powerful figure in History. Second, they want to disprove the Gospels because if the Gospels are true then He is God in flesh and everyone is accountable for that truth. If the Bible is true then everyone reading this blog and the rest of the world that does not read this blog, will all stand in front of God and be held accountable for their receiving Jesus Christ as their Savior or not. And for those who have died rejecting Christ it will a forever Hell. But for those who are His it will an entry into the eternal pleasures of His presence forevermore.

It is a clear absolute truth that renders every person accountable. That is the aversion the world has to Jesus. That is the goal, do away with the Jesus of the Bible and thus do away with our accountability to Him. It is impossible to accomplish, but that does not stop the James Camerons of the world, although for him there is also a financial motiviation. People have been trying to discredit Jesus Christ and the Word of God for over 2000 years. They come and they go, but He remains!

There is troubling news concerning students, from the wires;

"Twelfth-graders' reading skills have hit a new low, but their grades continue to climb, according to federal officials who suspect the nation's schools are inflating grades

According to one report, the latest nationwide test results in 12th-grade reading have hit their lowest point since testing in that subject first began.

Meanwhile, grade-point averages have continued their steady rise, according to a companion report on high-school transcripts. In 1990, the typical students' grade average in English was 2.52 out of a possible 4.0, or the equivalent of a C-plus. By 2005, the typical grade average was 2.82, equivalent to a B-minus"

The problem here is that reading skills are diminishing severely but the grade point averages are rising, not reflecting the reality of what is happening. The truth is unknown at this point as to why that is happening. It could be that teachers are being pressured by administration and parents to give high grades. It could be that in the politically correct culture we live in that no one is deserving of a bad grade, regardless of performance.

We do not know the reasons for this disparity, but we need to recognize the gravity of the problem. Kids are graduating high school and are unable to read at a mature level. Kids will graduate and grow into adults who do not read. We will become a society where the vast majority are unable to read, and we are on the fast track to that now. What is the problem with that you ask? The problem is that there will be an incredible class distinction. Those who are readers and those who are not, and if you think that does not matter check out any country where this is the case. Look into societies where the majority did not read but the minority did. It opens the door to people being taken great advantage of, while the ruling class lords over their superiority.

Intellect and cognitive ability are things we can improve. God has designed us all with the ability to gain wisdom. He has made us so that we can grow in our knowledge, and become a people who are able to read and write and interact at a high level. We need to be encouraging our young people to read, read, and then read some more. To not rely on CD'S or DVDs or computers, but to get their hands on real tangible books and sit down and spend serious time with them. There are no substitutes. Parents need to require this from their children. If not it will haunt us in a number of ways, not the least of which will be to hear our grown children struggle with the Word of God as they testify to "not being readers." Lets determine that will not be the testimony of the next generation. Lets do all we can to extol the virtues of reading. It is more than a matter of a disparity of grades and averages, is it the survival of a culture, in the balance, as we know it!

Our sin nature is such that we are drawn to the negative much quicker than the positive. Bad news travels a lot faster than good news. This is why there is so much in Gods Word that warns us against the sin of gossip. That being the case, it is important that we report when something good happens in this culture war we are fighting. Well in the last week of January, a lot of good happened. There were four cases of students not being allowed to speak of their reasons for opposing Roe v. Wade in their public schools. Students were being censored as they wore T-Shirts and spoke out on what is known as the “Pro-Life Day of Silent Solidarity,” a national, student-led event sponsored by Stand True. These were non-disruptive activities that were being shut down by the schools. The Alliance Defense Fund stepped in to represent the students in these four different situations and here is what happened, all in the last full week of January, from the wires;

"1. Friday, federal judge Samuel G. Wilson ordered Millbrook High School in Winchester, Va., to allow senior Andrew Raker to distribute pro-life leaflets at lunchtime and between classes

2. Also Friday, a federal court ratified an agreement between Scott Fish and South Jefferson Clarke Senior High School in Adams, N.Y. The school must no longer prohibit students from displaying pro-life messages on their clothing or distributing pro-life leaflets outside of class

3. Another federal court in New York Friday ratified an agreement involving a student at Gowana Middle School in Clifton Park, N.Y. The school has agreed to allow the student on an upcoming day to discuss abortion with his peers, hand them leaflets, and wear clothing with a pro-life message

4. Earlier last week, ADF favorably settled Sarah Hollen’s entire case against Penn Cambria High School in Cresson, Pa. School officials may no longer prohibit her distribution of leaflets to other students. The school must allow such leaflet exchanges outside of class time and cannot prohibit their distribution simply because school officials object to the pro-life content of the leaflets"

Matt Bowman, an attorney from ADF, had this to say;

“A public school’s property line does not separate a student from his or her First Amendment rights,” said ADF Legal Counsel Matt Bowman. “The law is clearly on the side of peaceful, pro-life student speech. These schools either agreed or were ordered by the court to protect the right of pro-life students to express themselves in a non-disruptive manner"

We need to be reminded of the victories that happen in the culture war. It is good for us to see that it is not a matter of simply rolling over and giving up. That there are laws and rights created by smart men who founded our great nation with a Sovereign God in mind, and His Word as a foundation. Not to create a theocracy, but a country that gave people the right to do things specifically like what these students were doing in their schools. so, if you are keeping score, score FOUR for the good guys!

Here is some fascinating and telling information on Bill Gates and his involvement in his children's computer time;

"Gates said he and his wife Melinda decided to set a limit of 45 minutes a day of total screen time for games and an hour a day on weekends, plus what time she needs for homework."

What an instructive bit of information. The man who has made billions of dollars in the computer industry limits his children's time on it. The man who knows much more than the average parent about computers and the Internet, sees the need to not allow his children to spend hours in front of the screen. It seems that Mr. Gates sees some harm in too much computer time for kids. If Bill Gates sees this need, it would do every parent well to sit up and take note. What Gates probably sees is the harm that is done to children when they are left in front of any screen for hours, be it television or the computer. He probably sees a nation of kids who are overweight and obese. He probably sees young people who have lost relational skills, due to the majority of their communication being on the Internet. Bill Gates probably sees a lot more than even we do , but the best line of all was when he was talking about a conversation with his son, to a business audience;

"My son said, 'Am I going to have limits like this my whole life?', and I said, 'No, when you move away you can set your own screen limits'," Gates recounted, to audience laughter."

I do not know a lot about Bill Gates, but I confess to admiring his love for his children. He loves them enough to be involved in their day to day activities. He is not content to leave them to their own devices in front of a computer screen. The question is, do we love our children that much? If not, that bill will come due one day and it will be an ugly painful payment!

Rob Bell is the new popular writer being pushed by Zondervan. They have sent him out on tour pushing his latest video and writings. Bell draws large crowds as he speaks the post modern language to the post modern crowd. People who review his writings in general extol him and his work. Even those who criticize him make sure to commend him on a number of fronts. A courtesy that is shown by most if not all who get involved in things like this. We want to make sure to highlight the good before we point out the faults. The problem with this line of critique is that we are speaking of absolute truth, Gods Word. And when someone is distorting or twisting or just plain getting it wrong as Bell does in many places, we are not called to highlight the good. We are called to expose the person and the heretical teaching.

At his Lexington Ky. appearance Bell used the Q & A format for the crowd. They could ask him anything. When the topic of homosexuality came up here were his positions as reported by Bob Wetherington who was there;

"Rob made the blanket statement that you have no moral authority to speak on this issue unless you have gay friends and understand their struggle."

How is it that Bell could say that, when we have the Word of God as our moral authority? He makes that statement because he has a low view of Gods Word, regardless of what he says. We always have moral authority to speak on any subject, because we have Gods Word. That is the moral authority. Another statement given by Bell that night;

"Jesus never said anything about homosexuality"

A common tactic used by the homosexual community to discount the Word of God. Well what we do know is that in Matt. 19 Jesus speaking to His disciples gives them two options. They could either be married , one man to one woman or they could be eunuchs for the kingdom's sake. Jesus spoke of fidelity in marriage and purity in singleness. His lack of use of the term homosexuality can hardly be given as some sort of support for the homosexual lifestyle. Nor can it be used to support the notion that we do not have a right to speak on such a perversion.

What Bell has done and continues to do is degrade the Word of God, and thus God Himself. Regardless of how many great videos he puts out, regardless of how many applicable relevant books he comes up with, he is degrading Gods Word. This makes him a heretic, an enemy of God. Strong words I know but the apostle Paul made it clear in Galatians 1:8 that if anyone, even an angel, even Rob Bell should come along and preach a different gospel they are to be accursed. When you begin to tear away the fabric and integrity of Gods Word, you are on the road to a different gospel. Do not be deceived by all of the acclaim and adoration from the pop Christian culture, hold Bell to the standard of the Word that he is in the process of degrading. Because when Bell is long gone and forgotten like all of the heretics and heretical movements end up being, the Word will still stand!

There is a study out by a sociologist and academic by the name of Dr. Arthur Shostak. In this study he looks at the effect of abortion on men. A topic you hear very little about. Men are the forgotten victims of abortion. They are often characatured as ogres who force women into having abortions. While there are certainly many men who have convinced, driven and paid for their girlfriend or wife's abortion, there are also a great many who have had no say in the process. This from the wires concerning the study;

"Shostak surveyed 1,000 men sitting in the waiting rooms of abortion facilities across the U.S. and found that 80 percent of those men indicated that that had been the longest and darkest day of their life.

Dr. Miriam Grossman, a psychiatrist at UCLA's student health service, says Shostak then followed those men for months, and even some for years.

"The numbers went up [over that time]," she observes. "The number of men who reported that day feeling some guilt and some ambivalence about what they were doing; the number of men who were asked 'Do you think that in the future you might have some troubling thoughts about this?' -- the percentages went up." Adds Grossman: "So a few years afterwards, they were reporting that it was worse than they had anticipated."

The victims of abortion are many. Men for too long have been the forgotten group of victims. Regardless of what Planned Parenthood would say, there is trauma enough for all when there is an abortion. We should not be surprised that the taking of innocent life in the womb would wreak havoc on all involved. You cannot simply kill babies and believe that the bill for that heinous act will not come due. The more we understand the effect of this for all parties the better equipped we will be to work towards the day when abortion is unthinkable!

As we get ready for the greatest display of cowardice this country has ever seen, the passing of the non-binding resolution criticizing and not supporting the President's plan for an increase in troops to Iraq, we have these words from our President;

"This may become the first time in the history of the United States Congress that it has voted to send a new commander into battle and then voted to oppose his plan that is necessary to succeed in that battle."

An incredible truth. The Senate unanimously confirmed Lt. Gen David Petraeus last week to take over as the top U.S. commander in Iraq. In those hearings the General stated plainly and unequivocally that to pass such a resolution would accomplish nothing but to encourage our enemies. He could not have been clearer. This resolution will aid the enemy and hurt our forces in the theatre and around the world. Any politician who cared at all about our country would have at that point concluded that this resolution was not the way to make their disagreements with the President known. You would want to believe that the politicans would not want to do anything to harm our troops, or to aid our very real enemy. But that is giving them far too much credit, as today in spite of hearing that from the General they confirmed without opposition, they will pass the resolution, encouraging our enemy and hurting our troops.

This is beyond cowardice and in my mind rises to the level of treason, which is defined as the crime of disloyalty to one's nation or state. If this is not that, then what is? Please do not believe that these pols care about the troops, or our country for that matter. Their actions speak louder than their words. If they cared they would have dropped the idea of this resolution upon hearing the Generals testimony. This is a transparent political move, giving pols the opportunity in 2008 to say they did something or at least said something about a failed war.

This is also a tremendous mis-calculation of the American people. Americans are far smarter and far more patriotic then these politicians want to give them credit for. This will be remembered come 2008 and many of these treasonous politicans will find themselves looking for real jobs after the next election, and that is the way it should be. We are the ones with the power, and we need to excercise that power. It is our patriotic duty to send each one of the men and women who vote for this aiding of the enemy resolution, home, regardless of their is a D or an R after their name. We need to let the brave men and women who serve heroically each day for our freedom know that we truly do support them, and that we will stand with them against their enemies in Congress, just like they stand for us against our enemies around the world.

From the wires;

"Two Christians in Australia have been indicted for criticizing Islam, and another for criticizing Zionism. A filmmaker has been threatened with arrest for using the word "homosexual" rather than "gay." Now a German priest faces jail time for publicly criticizing abortionists, and in Holland, "fornicators" and "adulterers" are protected classes and cannot be criticized.
In Canada and some European countries, it already is a crime to use the Internet to criticize "federally protected" groups such as homosexuals and Muslims. "In England, two men who called Islam 'wicked' were indicted … and now face seven years in prison." "

The relevance of this is if bill H.R. 254 is passed this will be the reality of our land. This bill is a hate crimes bill presented by Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee of Texas. It is a bill that has been presented year after year and only a Republican controlled Congress has kept it from moving forward. With the political climate changed in Washington, this bill has a good chance of seeing the light of day. If this becomes law you will eventually see people going to jail for stating the Bibles position on homosexuality. You will see people going to jail for holding to the Word of God when it comes to the teachings of Islam. Both of these groups will fall into the category of Federally protected people groups that will make it illegal to speak truth about them.

This day is coming sooner than any of us would have expected. You will soon have the decision to make that will affect you and your family, to speak the truth or not. Who will be willing to go to jail for the truth of Gods Word and who will not? This time is drawing near. To be sure you can engage this battle now and do everything you can to see that H.r. 254 does not move forward, but eventually it will. The glory of God in all of this is that His Church always fares better when there is a real cost to be paid. His Church always does its best ministry under the weight of persecution. And it appears that the Lord is getting His Church in America ready to do their best work!

David Parker is having his day in court and there are some unbelievable and revealing statements coming from all of this. Parker, as some of you might remember, is the one who was arrested because he had the audacity to ask to be informed before his young elementary age son would be taught about things such as homosexuality or trans-genderism. I interviewed Parker on my radio show last year and his position was simple and reasonable. All he desired was the ability to make the decision as to whether he wanted his young son to be exposed to such teaching. He was not asking the school not to teach it, nor was he seeking to change any curriculum's. He was acting as a dad who wanted to be informed before such controversial, adult type material would be exposed to his child. He was arrested due to his not being willing to leave the school office until they would agree to notify him of such teachings in the future. His story gained national attention and he is in court this week. There are some unbelievable quotes coming from this court case.

First from the lawyers for the school district;

Lawyers representing a Massachusetts school district named as a defendant in a parent's civil rights complaint have said teachers at Estabrook Elementary School have a "legitimate state interest" in teaching the homosexual lifestyle, and parents have no input into those decisions."

"Once I have elected to send my child to public school, my fundamental right does not allow me to direct what my child is exposed to in the public school," said the school's lawyer.

From the ACLU who of course is weighing in;

"An ACLU lawyer, however, told the judge that "it is a tremendous bonus" for children to be given information of which their parents wouldn't approve, and that teaching children homosexuality when their parents' Biblical beliefs do not support that has nothing to do with a violation of religious freedom..."

And from all of them together;

"A brief filed earlier by the Human Rights Campaign, the ACLU, the Massachusetts Teachers Association, and Gay & Lesbian Advocates & Defenders in support of the school's homosexual promotions said parental rights "have never meant that a parent can demand prior notice and the right to opt a child out of mere exposure to ideas in the public schools that a parent disapproves of."

The homosexual advocates, the Mass Teachers Association , the ACLU and others do not want you to have the ability to know what is going on in your child's classroom. They do not believe you as a parent deserve that courtesy, because they do not respect you as a parent. Understand this is about indoctrination! It is about indoctrinating children as young as possible, into the homosexual lifestyle. The homosexual agenda is to grab your children's attention as early as they can, and propagate the lies that make up this perverted agenda. And they have co-opted the courts, the judges, and the media.

What is needed are more David Parker's who are willing to go to jail if that is what it takes to protect their children. Thank you David, we are praying with and for you!

As Barak Obama gave his list of costs of a war that he says he never would have supported, he made the statement that this war also meant that 3000 had "wasted" their lives. He quickly understood the potential damage of that statement and shortly after the speech told a reporter. First the statement made at the speech:

"We ended up launching a war that should have never been authorized and should have never been waged -- and to which we now have spent $400 billion and have seen over 3,000 lives of the bravest young Americans wasted."

Now his damage control:
He backtracked in an interview with the Des Moines Register, saying: "I was actually upset with myself. Their sacrifices are never wasted; that was sort of a slip of the tongue as I was speaking.
"The sacrifices they have made are unbelievable. What I meant to say was those sacrifices have not been honored by the same attention to strategy, diplomacy and honesty on the part of civilian leadership," he added.

So what he really meant to say was that President Bush was not concerned with strategy, or diplomacy and in fact was lying! Obama meant to say that there was not a lot of attention paid to the situation in Iraq. I am not sure which statement is worse. His description of those who gave their lives as "wasted" is a gross, heinous disrespect of those in our military, in fact it is so bad it is almost Hillary like! The second statement disrespecting our President in a time of war is also incredibly ignorant and in fact is so bad it is almost Kennedyesque, if that is even a word!

What we are seeing with Barak Obama is more of the same. When interviewed this weekend for 60 Minutes, his wife was asked about fear of harm coming to her husband. Her answer was that as a black man her husband could just as easily get shot pumping gas. A revealing play of the race card, which Obama and his wife are inclined to do. To suggest in Obama's America in 2007 that he has a real chance of being shot pumping gas is absurd. Only those drinking the Kool-Aid from the left actually believe this. Obama and his wife, I am sure, do not even believe that.

So it took only one weekend to see the real Obama being revealed. Not the rock star who can do no wrong, although many will see him that way until real issues have to be discussed. But the real Obama is a liberal Democrat socialist (redundant?) who prostitutes his race for political gain and has the usual disrespect for the military that befits his politics. It would take too long to discuss the ignorance and naivete of his statement calling for a firm date for withdrawal of our troops. Suffice it to say that is Commander in Chief 101, which he has already failed!

Peter Labarbera is a man who has had the audacity to work to spread the good news of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ to the homosexual community. For that effort he has been targeted by that community, and in particular has received a threat from one of their blog sites, "Pams House Blend". Reportedly in the blog his address was made known and there were threatening postings, from the wires;

"The postings on "House Blend" targeted Peter LaBarbera, the president of the pro-family Americans for Truth, which works to publish a message of hope for those caught in the homosexual lifestyle.
The column posted LaBarbera's home address in a thread titled, "Saturday this and that," and a short time later, a poster identified as "Barry G. Wick" said, "It's across from a park in an area with cul de sacs. I'd bet it's a residence … and across from a park. Snipers take note."

To her credit the author of the blog suspended the person making the threats and his threads. But there is a comment she made that interests me. This from Pam Spaulding;

"In her message to LaBarbera, Spaulding said she has "never advocated for threatening physical harm to anyone" and "our families (whether you regard mine as such or not) have a right to be safe." On her blog she said whether the threats were real or not is irrelevant and "reprehensible."
"It's not what this community is about," she said.

It is not what this community is about? I beg to differ, in fact it is exactly what that community is about, or a good portion of them. What Mr. Labarbera has gone through is exactly what I went through last year when I held the "Mr. Heterosexual Contest". The threats against me were more than a few and ranged from burning me to death to other things that I would not post here. To be sure what the homosexual community does is seek to bully and intimidate anyone who has the nerve to suggest that they do not have to live the lifestyle they do.

The Mr. Hetero contest is a great example. The homosexual community sought to and in large part did portray the event as a gay bashing event, which of course it was not. It was a fun night with a great testimony from a young man who had been delivered from homosexuality through Jesus Christ. The great news now is that it is on DVD for any to purchase at our website and see for themselves what it was and what it was not. But the truth does not matter as the homosexual community believes if they say it long enough it is true, regardless of the facts. This is what they do, while they say they are not a community that supports threats and intimidation. Their words say that but their actions speak a much different message.

Their treatment of Peter Labarbera was the norm, he just happened to fight back and report the treatment to the authorities. All of a sudden, there was retractions and apologies. Like with Islam, do not be lulled into a false sense of security by the words of the homosexual community, watch their actions. Those speak louder than any words!

Anthony Mirto and Ernest Simpson are two men who serve with the Gideons, an organization dedicated to getting as many Bibles to as many people as possible. Mirto and Simpson were handing out Bibles on the PUBLIC walk outside of Key Largo School. Officials called the police and amazingly they were arrested. They never entered the school nor were they attempting to, they just simply were giving Bibles out to whomever wanted one. The First Amendment is clear in protecting the right to engage in religious speech on public property. It is not debatable, it is not a grey area, it is the law of the land. I am sure the Alliance Defense Fund will do a fine job making that point in court.

The bigger question is how is it that people like these school officials keep making the same mistake? How is it that they believe they can call the police and prevent something so clearly within the rights of people? The answer is that we now live in a day and age where those in positions of power and authority do not have any idea about what the Bill of Rights is, or what the First Amendment allows. They do not know history so they operate on the assumption that what they have seen in the news media must be correct, so they call police and have people arrested and ultimately cost the people of their district thousands of dollars for court cases they will inevitably lose. Most school officials have no idea that they have no jurisdiction over the public walkways right outside of their school doors.

It is necessary to understand the worldview of those in authority in our culture. For the most part there is an incredible ignorance of the law and rights of the people. Understanding that is critical if you are going to be active in the culture war we are engaged in, as it can mean you go to jail for something that you are entirely legally within your rights to do. This is what happens when the inmates have control of the asylum!

From the wires;
"Bankrupt and about to lose Al Franken, its marquee star, Air America Radio is set to change hands for the bargain price of $4.25 million, according to new court documents. The sales figure was disclosed in a purchase agreement filed yesterday in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in New York."

The great experiment known as Air America that sought to put forth a liberal voice in talk radio has failed. The new movement in talk radio that was going to ride the wave of their flagship host Al Franken has gone belly up. Now they have been bought as has been reported and I am sure there will be a re-organization, but the failure is noteworthy. It is noteworthy in large part due to the boastful promises that they made coming out of the gate. Air America was going to be the answer to the rabid right wing talk shows. They were going to prove that America is truly liberal and that the country was dying for shows like the ones they would produce. What they found out was that the great country of America is much more conservative than they ever believed.

The greatest truth of this whole scenario is that not only is Air America financially bankrupt, but the reason for that is that their ideas are bankrupt. What was their demise is what always was going to be their demise, their ideas. Liberal ideas are very marginalized, they are the extreme minority in the country. Reason being, they simply do not make any sense to thinking people, which is another thorn in their flesh. The Air America crowd likes to think of themselves as intellectually superior to those in opposition to them. Truth be told, their ideas are inferior in many areas. Take abortion, they still hold to that worn out position, clinging to beliefs that are stuck in the 1970's when there was not the technology there is today. The reason there is a shortage of abortion doctors is that the thinking people understand what technology has revealed in ultra-sound pictures, but the liberal left blindly carries the water for Planned Parenthood and others. It is like still advocating blood letting for headaches.

In the battle of ideas, the liberal left has lost again with Air America. But let us hope they do not disappear as having them on the scene is helpful. It is good for us to see the contrast. We would not know light without darkness, and we would not fully see good sound moral wisdom, apart from the Air Americas of the world. So to Al Franken and the gang, thanks, hope to see you soon!

In stunning news, Texas has become the first state in the nation to require schoolgirls to be vaccinated with Merck & Co.'s human papillomavirus vaccine in order to be allowed in school. The HPV as it is known is a vaccine to help a sickness that is obtained only through intercourse. Which means that parents who believe in abstinence and teach abstinence and promote abstinence are in a serious moral dilemma. Do we give our daughters a vaccine that assumes they will have intercourse while we are educating them not to? How in the world could the state of Texas could require this? Actually the state did not, it was by executive order of Governor Perry.

Without a doubt the results of such a vaccine will be to enable girls to have a false sense of security about participating in sexual relations. Time will bare that our, but the biggest issue in my mind is parental rights. Should it not be up to the parent if they want to introduce such a vaccine to their daughter? This is not some out of control epidemic we are talking about. This is simply something that could happen as a result of intercourse. If a girl were to be abstinent until marriage she would not have to worry about this sickness. Texas in all of its wisdom, or I should say Governor Perry by his executive order, has by passed and stripped away the rights of a mom and dad. If they want their daughter in public school then they must comply.

The answer would seem to be simply pull your children out of public school, but that is a luxury not everyone has. There are moms and dads who rely on the public school system as their lifeline for their children's education. It is a sad day in Texas, and high time for parents to coordinate themselves into a bloc of people that will be listened to. Apart from that they forfeit their parental rights to politicians and bureaucrats who care for nothing except their wallets!

The Super Bowl is one of the biggest media events of the year. People around the world watch every part of it from the commercials that have become their own event, to the game itself, which at times can seem anti-climatic. But this years game gave us something refreshing in both of the head coaches. Not that they were the first African America, though they were, but rather that they both were outspoken followers of Jesus Christ. Lovie Smith, the coach of the Bears and Tony Dungy the coach of the Colts are not only great friends but followers of Christ. In the post game interview on national television seen my millions, Dungy, the winning coach was asked about being the first African American to win a Super Bowl, he gave this answer;

Tony Dungy: "I'll tell you what. I'm proud to be representing African-American coaches, to be the first African-American to win this. It means an awful lot to our country. But again, more than anything, I've said it before, Lovie Smith and I, not only the first two African-Americans, but Christian coaches showing that you can win doing it the Lord's way. And we're more proud of that"

Note his words, "more than anything". It is more important to Dungy that he represent Christ in his life than the fact he is a black man. It was a great answer that displayed the humble boldness with which he conducts his life. The Associated Press carried his answer on their wires services, but Bloomberg News shamefully cut the reference to being a Christian, in their reporting. That normally would be troubling, but not in this case, as the Lord has raised up a man who will speak for the next few months all over the world and to be sure he will give witness to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. That is more powerful than the color of his skin!

There are two brothers in Pakistan who have escaped from Muslim captivity. They were apprehended for their refusal to convert to Islam. They refused because they are followers of Jesus Christ. From the wires;

"When Shahzad and Saraj refused to convert, the brick kiln owner took them away, according to a Voice of the Martyrs source within Pakistan. "He put them in a small, empty room with a mud floor without a bed, chair or mattress."
The source continued: "He kept them there for a month. He gave them food once a day and beat them with a stick when they refused to convert back to Islam. He also threw acid on their arms, but they remained true to their Christ."

God miraculously delivered them from prison, as after they prayed they found the doors to their cell open. Now they are on the run trying to survive as they flee the area. To be sure, they are being pursued by their captors. It is another fine example of the religion of peace that is Islam. This story, sadly, is not extraordinary, it is the norm. As those who embrace the Quran and follow the teaching of Mohammed are simply being good followers when they convert by force and rape kill and maim. Understand that all of that is done in the name of
Mohammed, who was the supreme example of one who raped, maimed and killed.

So today we have another great example from the religion of peace. I could have given a number of examples, like the woman in Pakistan who along with her mother was arrested for being a follower of Jesus. Her mother was taken out of the prison, raped and chopped up into pieces, her daughter was miraculously released, but not until a 70 year old Islamic pervert raped her repeatedly. I could go on and on but remember today those who follow our Savior who are being called to endure and give so much more than most of the rest of us. Pray for them that they would see Him through it all. And take note of these things, have the courage to speak the truth and not be intimidated by the Islamic bullies in our culture. Remember we have the Truth, and greater is He that in us than he that is in the world!

On yesterdays radio show I had Brian Camenker the founder of Mass Resistance, an organization dedicated to fighting for morality and normalcy in Massachusetts, a tall task indeed. The subject of our discussion was an expose Brian has put together on Mitt Romney. Brian has compiled a thorough work on Romneys record. Interviews he gave, statements made during debates, Judges he appointed as Governor, and more. What is clear about Mitt Romney is that there is overwhelming evidence he is anything but a conservative. In fact if you were to describe him honestly you would call him a pro-abortion, pro-homosexual, anti-gun owner candidate.

What is amazing is that he is listed among the more conservative candidates. In any list that is given of conservative Republicans, Romney is right there, and said to be to the right of people like McCain and Gulianni. The truth is that he is not a conservative and even worse he is not honest about it. Say what you want about McCain and Gulianni, at least they are honest about their less than socially conservative beliefs. I would encourage any of you that are leaning toward Mitt Romney as your candidate, to check out www.massresistance.org and read for yourself the voluminous evidence that he is anything but conservative. He can say whatever it is that his political consultants are telling him, but his record speaks loudly for itself.

Brian Camenker is not done with this subject, as he told me, he is about to release volume two on this subject. It is worth reading if you care about primary sourcing the people you are considering supporting!
