Once again bill H.R. 1592, from Rep. John Conyers has been introduced, the "Hate Crimes Bill". On the surface that sounds good, or does it? Upon review you will find this is a kill free speech bill that is weighted towards favoring and propagating the homosexual movement. Some snippets from the bill that you might be interested in come from the section that deals with hate groups. "Homophobia" is one of the things the bill calls for to spot a hate group, I quote;

"include apocalyptic Christianity in their ideology and believe we are in, or approaching, a period of violence and social turmoil which will precede the Second Coming of Christ"

Any person who believes that things will get worse, culminating in an Armageddon type battle, is a suspect under this bill. Under federal funding this type of person becomes a suspect and could be targeted. This will give us a country where people who stand on sidewalks to witness or hand out tracs will be arrested under hate crimes law while real criminals run rampant. The mindset is maddening. When Janet Folger of Faith2Action appeared on the Today show to discuss the Matthew Shepard murders the host told Folger that she was responsible for the murder because she held to a biblical view of homosexuality. While that is ridiculous on a number of fronts, it is the reality we all will face should this legislation ever become law. (I will fight the urge to go into the fact that Shepard's murderers confessed to killing him for drugs and not sexual identity)

What you and I can do is to contact our Reps and let them know our opposition to this bill. While in my state that will be as Luther told one of his colleagues, "like trying to add water to the ocean by spitting in it", it is still our duty to weigh in for His glory!!

blog you later,
