The Word of God says in Proverbs 31:30 "Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised." Ruth Graham is on her deathbed, awaiting her Master to come and receive her home. Her husband Billy said this in the last few days;

"Ruth is my soul mate and best friend, and I cannot imagine living a single day without her by my side. I am more in love with her today than when we first met over 65 years ago as students at Wheaton College."

An incredible testimony from a great man of God about a great woman of God. Only God knows what sacrifices Ruth Graham made to be the wife of Billy Graham. To be married to a man who was gone as much or more than he was home. To support him in the call that God has put on his soul, even when it meant that you were the one to be both mom and dad for long periods of time. To not resent your husband when your children have gone astray for a period of time. Only God truly knows all of the sacrifice that Ruth Graham endured as the wife of Billy.

And only God knows the effect of the ministry of Ruth. The lives that she touched, the encouragement that she was and is to many many women. The example of how to be a wife that she has displayed to the world. It would seem that Ruth Graham was the picture of strength through submission. Christian women today would do well to take note of this lady and learn from her example. I really do not have to say much more, as the testimony of her husband being more in love with her today than 65 years ago says it all. What awaits Ruth Graham next is to see her Lord and hear, "Well done good and faithful servant, welcome home"!
