File this under Christian Courage. Mario Medhat Ramses, 11, and Andrew Medhat Ramses, 13, are by all accounts "brilliant students." They are enrolled at the French Lycee school of Alexandria Egypt. The trouble is that they quite possibly will face a future without education. Both of them were required to take a test that would mean their conversion to Islam , to their credit they both wrote "I am a Christian" on their papers. Their father has converted to Islam which effects their situation, from the wires;

"Their situation arose because of the Islamic law demand that children follow their father's faith if it is Islam. The nation's education ministry then requires children to take – and pass – a test on Islam in order for them to be advanced in school. No passing grade, no more schooling."

While groups around the world protest and try to help, the reality is that these two gifted boys are facing persecution that will last their lifetime in that part of the world. In spite of that they are both strong in the Lord Jesus Christ and are unwilling to compromise, regardless of the cost to them. How convicting to those of us in this country who at the first sign of displeasure from anyone towards us, there is compromise. We all would do well to look to the courage these young boys, who like many before them in the tradition of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abendego, would not bow to worship false idols!

Tony Taylor34 a , of Hampton Va. , entered his plea today to conspiracy to travel in interstate commerce in aid of unlawful activities, and conspiring to sponsor a dog in an animal fighting venture. The significance of this is that he is a co-defendant with the Atlanta Falcons, Michael Vick. Vick the teams star quarterback is also charged with this heinous crime. These men and others are a part of a sub-culture of dog fighting. A culture where dogs are bred to fight and kill. A culture where neighborhood pet dogs have reportedly been stolen from people and thrown into the pit with killer dogs to keep them fresh and blood thirsty.

The interesting thing about all of this is not the horror of the events, or the ignorance of the participants, but rather the involvement of Michael Vick. While he has not been convicted of anything, there does seem to be overwhelming evidence he is involved. Why would a multi-millionaire risk it all to be involved in interstate dog fighting?

The answer is a Biblical one, money does not satisfy. It does not matter how much money you have, it can never satisfy. From Michael Vick and dog fighting, to all of the young starlet girls who continue to be arrested, there is a lack of contentment with only money. Most people do not believe this, and many in fact would say they would love the opportunity to prove the theory wrong. But it is tried and true, money cannot buy you happiness and contentment. That comes from and only from a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. It is only upon receiving Christ as your Savior that you can truly be content. Only then do you understand money and its purpose, to be used for the glory of God.

Vick and others throughout the years have been great examples of how money and things do not satisfy. King Solomon one of the richest people ever testified that it was all vanity and that the sum of life was found in serving and worshipping the Lord God almighty. Some people have to lose it all and go to jail to learn that, others can simply know God and His Word to understand. These events are a good reminder to us of not only the depravity of man, but also the fleeting nature of riches!

In a tragic accident today, two television news helicopters crashed while covering a crime in progress. Four people were killed in what has become the norm for news coverage. You cannot go too many days without seeing some car chase on the news. Time and again you get the view from the news helicopter of the car running away from the police. At times this coverage will go for hours. Why do the stations carry the coverage? Ratings! The news business like any other, is competitive, and they do what needs to be done to be successful. Obviously the stations believe that this is good for ratings, or they would not carry it as often as they do.

The larger question becomes why is it so appealing. Why do the viewers, you and I, enjoy watching these crime in progress? Why do so many stay riveted to their televisions watching the car chase, knowing inevitably the criminals will get caught? I believe it taps into our voyeuristic desires. We live in a day and age where we can watch anyone do anything, and everyone do everything. And apparently it is an insatiable appetite, or there would not be so many reality shows.

From used car lots, to tattoo parlors, to funeral homes, to parents with a lot of kids, to dysfunctional celebrity families, to people who need to lose weight, you can watch it all. And people are, as reality television is as hot as ever. But is that a good thing? When is it enough? How far do we go as a culture? While some would make the case that today was simply an accident that happened in the process of covering a legitimate news event, I believe there is more involved.

Do we need to see the car chase? Do we need to see the crime and the catching of the criminal? What is helpful or good about our viewing this? Some might say that seeing it discourages others, because the criminals always get caught. While maybe that has happened, you and I know that this is not the case. Four people died today needlessly, because they were trying to get coverage that no one needed to see. That is the sad truth. All of us should take a hard look at our viewing habits. What we like to watch, what we spend our time viewing.

If this tragedy causes some people to re-evaluate their viewing habits, to take stock of what they watch and why it is that they watch it. If this tragedy causes some people to consider their viewing choices in light of Gods Word in which the Psalmist committed to put no unworthy shameful thing before his eyes, then maybe, just maybe these deaths were not in vain!

Some good news today from the FCC;

"The Federal Communications Commission has no intention of reinstating the Fairness Doctrine imposing a requirement of balanced coverage of issues on public airwaves, FCC Chairman Kevin Martin said. Martin, in a letter written this week to Rep. Mike Pence, R-Ind., and made public Thursday, said the agency found no compelling reason to revisit its 1987 decision that enforcing the federal rule was not in the public interest."

The Fairness Doctrine has been again revived due to the outcry of the American people over the immigration bill. The bill did not make the light of day because the people rose up against it. Liberal Democrats, (is that redundant?) of course were unhappy and did what they always do, tried to figure out ways to make laws to achieve what their ideas could not. So they revive the Fairness Doctrine which is nothing more than legislation that would shut down conservative Talk Radio. Again the free market has spoken and Democrats want to do their best to shut it down.

But the FCC has weighed in with some sanity, seeing no need to have such socialistic practices. It seems that at the government level there are still some sane, right thinking people who believe in the free marketplace of ideas. What a wonderful thought, to think that the best ideas will win, and all others will need to improve to compete. Could it be that this might still be the case in our country? Of course it is, until or unless you have a Democratic President with a Democratic Congress!

One of the things that stood out most clearly in the Democratic debate the other night was the pre-supposition of many if not most of the questioners. Almost all of them asked questions assuming that it was the governments job to take care of them. Many of the questions wanted to know how the government was going to fix the problems that the people were having. This is a fundamental distinction between Democrats and Republicans. Democrats believe government is the answer while most Republicans believe that you are the answer, as you can do a better job than the government in helping yourself. All the government will do is mess things up for you and take too much control of your life, from your money to the decisions you make about your family.

Consider China, which has a law that you can only have one child. It is reported today that Central China's Hunan Province will impose massive fines on wealthy parents who break the nation's one-child policy. The fine will be about seven times the annual income of the violating family. Can you imagine being fined seven times your annual income for simply having a baby? Well, you need to imagine it, as this is where things end up when governments have too much control over the people. They will always make a mess of things as too much power is always corrupting, due to the Biblical truth of total depravity.

Total depravity, being completely sinful is something only Jesus Christ can remedy. Because man is totally depraved, too much power and control will always be too much to handle. Some of the current candidates understand this and some do not. The question as you decide who receives your vote is, do you understand this?

It is too easy. As much as I try to avoid the same subjects it is impossible. Last night in the Democratic debate the issue of man made global warming came up and of course the candidates were on board with the propaganda. John Edwards said it was a crisis, a strong and uninformed word to say the least. But it is the words of his wife that highlight the ridiculousness of this movement. From the wires;

"In a meeting with local environmentalists in the coastal town of McClellanville today, where Elizabeth Edwards raised in passing the importance of relying on locally-grown fruit.
"We've been moving back to 'buy local,'" Mrs. Edwards said, outlining a trade policy that "acknowledges the carbon footprint" of transporting fruit.
"I live in North Carolina. I'll probably never eat a tangerine again," she said, speaking of a time when the fruit is reaches the price that it "needs" to be.
Edwards had talked about "sacrifice," at the meeting, but Elizabeth's suggestion illustrated just how difficult it is to sell the specifics of sacrifice."

Because the tangerines would have to be transported from Florida to North Carolina, Mrs. Edwards will sacrifice eating tangerines? So the plan would have to be that people should only eat things that they can get local. That will help to avert this "crisis". That along with the mercury filled light bulbs that everyone should use, along with only using one piece of toilet paper per bowel movement, etc. etc. etc....

The frightening thing is that there are actually people who believe this stuff. The good thing is that if you like tangerines, there will be more available!

It only takes a moment to ruin the lives of so many people. This past Saturday Louis Wiederer 26 and his girlfriend Jesenia Vega went to a party on Long Island. It was to be a barbecue with friends. Louis bid his mom goodbye and told her he loved her, not knowing that his time on this earth was about over. As it turns out the party was one where his fiancee Jesenia ended up pretty intoxicated, and like most people drunk, she believed she could drive. Her fiancee did the right thing in trying to convince her not to drive. But she insisted, to the point of getting in the car and starting to drive off. Her fiancee was distraught at the thought of her being arrested or worse, killing herself or someone else. So he ran next to the car holding on, tragically he slipped fell, and she ran him over, killing him!

In a moment the lives of so many changed. In a moment a loving couple who were anticipating spending their lives together, ended up with one dead and the other guilty of killing him. In a moment one set of parents lost their son, while another lost the daughter they sent to the party. It all happened in a moment, or did it?

You see, the moments of crisis, are often brought on by many other moments. If not for the moments of drinking this tragic moment would not have occurred. It is a lesson to us all that the way we live our lives today will have a profound effect on the moments to come. Life is Gods gift to us, and we are to be good stewards of that gift. We need to take care of it, and regard it as precious. The things that would tempt us, need to be seen beyond the "moment"of temptation. They need to be seen in the context of all the "moments" that will follow. The consequential "moments" that the one "moment" will lead to.

Pray for these two families, as they will walk through valleys that are hard to imagine, without the rod and staff leading. And as you pray, guard your life, redeem all the "moments" that He has left for you on this earth! And praise him that in Jesus Christ these "moments" can be forgiven!

There are more and more states that are passing what are known as "trigger laws". These are laws that would take effect or be triggered when Roe v. Wade was overturned. Colorado is in the process of doing this,but with a different twist. The proposal to declare person hood to the child in the womb from the moment of conception has passed its second hurdle and could very well be on its way to the voters.

This is an ingenious proposal that would do away with abortions in total, without ever having to do away with abortions. The wisdom in this is once a person has been declared a person, you can no longer go into the womb and kill that person. As long as it is not called a person there is that potential. I will refrain from the discussion of how killing a baby in the womb with a bullet is murder, while if a doctor does it, it is a medical procedure.

The good news is that the tide is turning in the abortion debate. Technology has shown us what we should have known all along, that the baby in the womb is a baby in the womb, just as Gods Word says. The next President will have the honor of appointing the Supreme Court Justice who could kill Roe v. Wade. A ruling that has allowed the murder of millions of people. Have I mentioned lately how important the 2008 election is?

Does truth matter? A fair question to ask, particularly in a political season where "facts" and "figures" are being thrown around for the benefit of a candidate and his or her position. Consider health care as an example. The mantra you hear over goes like this;

"In a May 31 speech, Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., said: "It's really indefensible that we now have more than 45 million uninsured Americans, 9 million of whom are children, and the vast majority of whom are from working families."

"ABC News medical expert Dr. Tim Johnson praised a "bold" and "politically brilliant" universal health-coverage plan on the April 26 edition of "Good Morning America."

"It's bold because it does propose to cover all Americans, including the 47 million now who are uninsured, within five years," said Johnson."

Michael Moore's new film is "SICKO" the director's website claims a very high number of uninsured: "There are nearly 50 million Americans without health insurance."

While those figures are sobering and stir up emotion and could even garner a candidate like Clinton support, are they true? Some would challenge the veracity of these statistics. Business and Media Institute is a Virginia-based division of the Media Research Center, a nonprofit watchdog organization designed to bring balance and responsibility to the media. They challenge the truth of these often quoted statistics;

"The actual total is open to debate," says BMI analyst Julia Seymour. "But there are millions of people who should be excluded from that [high] tally, including: those who aren't American citizens, people who can afford their own insurance, and people who already qualify for government coverage but haven't signed up."

She notes government statistics also show 45 percent of people without insurance are not completely in dire straits, as they'll have coverage again within four months after switching jobs.

"Accounting for all those factors, one prominent study places the total for the long-term uninsured as low as 8.2 million – a very different reality than the media and national health care advocates claim," said Seymour."

That is quite a difference, 45 million or 8.2 million. I would bet that most if not all of you have never heard that the number might be as low as 8 million. All you hear is over 40 million, over and over and over again, from the liberal media and their candidates. To make their case, to create fear in the hearts of the American people, which is how they try to win voters, not on ideas, they must quote the inflated and very likely untrue statistics.

Does the truth matter? November 2008 will give you your answer!

Yesterday at the Planned Parenthood Action Funds political organizing conference three of the leading democratic Presidential contenders took a clear position. It is a position that is good for us to hear as it once again gives us clarity on issues. Clarity on who stands where, and what will they do should they be given the opportunity of the highest office in the land. The position was that there would be clear open access to as many abortions as possible. Health insurance would be sure to be available for such deadly procedures that Mrs. Edwards described as "pregnancy terminations". She also had the audacity to list this heinous practice under the heading of reproductive health services.

I appreciate and applaud anyone who will take a clear stand on the issues of the day. Even if I disagree, as I vehemently do here, I give credit to anyone who has the courage to say here is where I stand. On the issue of abortion, we could not have a clearer statement then what candidates Edwards, Obama and Clinton gave us yesterday on abortion. If elected they will seek to make abortion more available than it is now, and you can be sure that they will appoint Supreme Court Justices who agree with that ideology.

So once again I am here to remind you that the stakes have never been higher than what faces us in 2008. While I am not suggesting that anyone be a one issue voter, I do believe we have seen a case building that would portray the democratic candidates as anti-family values. Their stated positions, at least the three leading candidates are pro homosexual, pro abortion, pro socialist health care. I would think that would be enough for most Americans to look elsewhere!

Well it is back, the Hate Crimes bill. The one that would classify gender and sexual orientation as specially protected classes of people under federal law. The one that turns people in law enforcement into thought police. The one that will eventually land people in jail for using biblical terms to describe things like homosexuality. While the bill being back is not surprising, the vehicle it comes in is a little surprising, though not terribly, considering the source.

None other than Sen. Ted Kennedy proposed as an amendment to a defense spending bill, a maneuver opponents are calling "shameless" and "manipulative." They call it that because it is. The Senator has tagged a defense bill he knows the President not only wants but needs. Knowing that either the defense bill will be killed which he likes, or the Hate Crimes Bill will pass, which he loves. While this is probably not the first time a move like that has happened in politics, it is a shameful one, considering the fact that we are in a war. Our troops are in the field, in need of this Defense Bill passing and this Senator has chosen to play politics with their lives.

As far as the Hate Crimes Bill, there is ample evidence that this is the direction of our nation already. Here are a few examples of things that have happened recently that might surprise you, from the wires;

Madison, Wisconsin. David Ott, a former homosexual, was arrested for a "hate crime" for sharing his testimony with a homosexual at a gas station. He faced a $10,000 fine and one year behind bars. Seven thousand dollars in legal fees later, [he] was ordered to attend re-education classes at the University of Wisconsin conducted by a lesbian.

St. Petersburg, Florida. Five Christians including two pastors were arrested at a homosexual rally for stepping onto the public sidewalk instead staying caged in their officially designated "free speech zone."

"Elmira, New York. The Elmira police arrested seven Christians for praying in a public park where a homosexual festival was getting started.

Crystal Lake, Illinois. Two 16 year old girls are facing felony "hate crime" charges for the content of their flyer's.

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Arlene Elshinnawy, a 75-year-old grandmother of three, and Linda Beckman, a 70-year-old grandmother of 10 (along with nine others), were arrested for sharing their faith on the public sidewalk."

You can hear the testimony of the grandmothers at http://www.stophatecrimesnow.com/.

As Senator Kennedy and others seek to covertly sneak this bill through, it is up to the people of America to keep watch and stay informed, as the day could be coming where even that will be deemed illegal!

As you head into your weekend, check this out from the wires;

"Canonsburg Mayor Anthony Colaizzo issued an executive order this week banning the use of grills -- propane, charcoal and wood -- after 8 p.m. in this town of 8,825 known for its grandiose Fourth of July parades."

First offenders get a warning, while repeat offenders receive a fine of $300.00, which makes for an expensive hot dog. Humor aside, this is a perfect picture of politics gone bad, or liberals at work. Apparently there was a complaint from one resident about a neighbor who was creating smoke in his yard that was offensive to the complainant. Instead of dealing with the alleged offender the Mayor creates a blanket law that takes away the privilege from everyone. It is the same mode of operation from those who would want to take away the right of gun ownership from law abiding citizens. Someone commits a heinous crime with a gun, and all of a sudden no one should own a gun.

It is big government at work. They want to take away your right to a gun and now your right to a grilled hamburger or hot dog after 8 pm. Here is what I predict, this will create an outcry that has never been seen in this little town. People might be slow to act when there are books in their local library like "My Two Mommies" and they might be slow to get involved in a local pregnancy center to combat abortion, but you take away their right to grill, now you have a war on your hands.

Here is another reason to vote for people that are for less government and more rights for the people. Otherwise your 8:30 pm grill party could be crashed by the grill police and who knows, one day that could mean hard time, where you would be imprisoned with people who have done other awful things like speak biblically about homosexuality, or walked within the borders of the buffer zone at abortion clinics!

Harry Reid the Democratic Senate Majority leader can be credited with being the man behind the first ever Hindu cleric to open the Senate session in prayer. How far we have fallen from the days when the opening prayer of the Senate was to God and based on the righteousness and mercy of His Son Jesus Christ. While it is worth noting that it took a democrat to get this done, I will refrain as these days the lines between the parties tend to be more and more blurred.

The real story here is the confirmation that this is no longer a Christian nation. We are no longer a land devoted to Godly principles. Regardless of the truth that Scripture permeates most if not all of the older government buildings in our capital. We are a pagan nation devoted to a multiplicity of gods and not the one true God. We murder millions of babies each year, we have desecrated the sacredness of marriage and have allowed the most sacred of moments in our government to be given over to idolatry.

I am not sure this is all such a bad thing. I think it is important for believers in Christ to understand that their first allegiance is to Christ and not America. We are Christians before we are Americans, and the two are becoming increasingly more distinct. And it will be good for His people to be in a nation that becomes ever more hostile to the only true God, His Son, and His Word, as that will necessitate persecution which is always the breeding ground for revival. So as we watch our politicians celebrate idolatry, let us be reminded that our God is in control and what might seem to be mans evil, will be used by God for His glory and the good of His people!

Joseph Ratzinger, who is the current Pope has always been known to be a man who has been of the more conservative type. He is staying true to his history with the release of a document recently that says Protestant and Orthodox faiths are not "proper churches". From the wires;

"The document said that the Orthodox church suffered from a “wound” because it did not recognise the primacy of the Pope. The wound was “still more profound” in Protestant denominations, it added.

It was “difficult to see how the title of ‘Church’ could possibly be attributed to them”, said the statement from the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith. Roman Catholicism was “the one true Church of Christ”.

You have to give this Pope credit for being honest in what his church believes. In the past some in his position have tried to position the Catholic Church as some type of Unitarian faith that sees all as a part of the church. There was the infamous tragic document Evangelicals and Catholics together that purported to show the commonality of both. A task impossible considering the Catholic Church teaches salvation by works, compounded by the fact that they have never taken the Anathema away, that was pronounced on all Protestants.

The truth is that the Catholic Church believes the true church is Rome. They believe salvation is something earned by works, and they have never changed that. They do not believe in justification by faith alone, in Christ alone, regardless of the propaganda they have put out in recent years. So give credit to this Pope for publicly displaying the truth of what his church believes, and has for years.

I believe it is important that this has taken place. It is important for people to know the truth of Rome so they can understand the need to share the gospel with their catholic friends. It is not the same faith, it is not the same gospel and as God says through the Apostle Paul in Galatians 1:8, if someone comes along and preaches a different gospel from the true one, they are to be accursed, even if it is an angel. This pope gives us an opportunity show the truth that the Roman Catholic Church is not a Bible believing church. They teach and preach a different gospel. Works, not grace. Therefore it is incumbent on all who truly know the Lord Jesus Christ to share the true gospel with those who are trapped in this belief system.

For those who want to believe that the Catholic church is a part of Gods Church, and that there are no important differences, they are simply whistling past the graveyard. It is a false religion that proclaims a false gospel. We can thank this pope for coming out and allowing all to see that this indeed is true!

Today we hear the report that for the first time ever there will be a Presidential debate devoted solely to issues of homosexuality. The Aug. 9 event in Los Angeles is scheduled to be broadcast on the homosexual-oriented LOGO network and live streamed at LOGOonline.com. The panel of questioners will consist of people like Melissa Ethridge whose profession is singing but qualifies to be a questioner of potential Presidential candidates because she is a lesbian? Also slated to be a questioner is Joe Solmonese, president of the homosexual activist group Human Rights Campaign. Some of the debate topics will include same-sex marriage, HIV, AIDS "hate crimes" and job discrimination. Hillary Clinton, Barak Obama and John Edwards have already confirmed their appearances at this debate.

This gives a clear indication and fortunately a clear choice to voters come election time. The Democratic party will present a candidate who will be pro homosexual which means they will be anti traditional family values. You cannot have it both ways. The homosexual movement is one of decadence and perversion and their goal is to indoctrinate our country, and frankly they have done a good job. They have succeeded in becoming so mainstream that at least one party is bowing down to them, seeking votes. Lets hope for better from the Republican party. We can only hope that there is at least one party left that stands for family values.

There is no need for special classifications for homosexuals. It is a sexual orientation choice they have made, not a race they have born with. They are human beings who deserve the same rights and protections under the law that everyone else has, and they already have that. For those who would want to disagree and use marriage as the reason, that is a different discussion. Marriage is an institution created by God and He has told us clearly that it is for a man and a woman only. It is not for men with men or women with women, and it never has been nor will it ever be in Gods eyes.

So we have a gay debate coming on a gay network, showcasing the Democratic presidential candidates. Sounds about right!

It is interesting today to note that the Johannesburg Live Earth Concert did not have a very good turn out. These are the concerts to promote the acceptance of man made global warming. Organizers said that the crowd was low because it was too chilly! I will refrain from all the obvious, humorous comments, though it is tempting. The global warming movement is one of ideology at the expense of everything and anything that gets in its way. Filmmaker and activist Robert Greenwald has taken this ideology to a new and revealing level. He has made an ad urging people to boycott Home Depot because they advertise on Fox News and Fox is skeptical of global warming.

The ad shows a variety of commentators and guest who have appeared on Fox who have had the audacity to disagree with the man made global warming position. This is a telling move as it displays the character or lack of with these people. It is not dialog or debate they are looking for, rather, submission to their agenda. This is not unlike the Jihadists who seek to convert at the end of a sword. Believe what we believe or lose your life. The global warming proponents are saying, believe what we believe or lose your livelihood. The consequences might be different, but the methodology is the same.

You are no longer free in our society to disagree with global warming. If you do, then you will pay the price the global warming terrorists deem fitting. By the way, Greenwald was not the only global warming terrorist to advocate boycotts, I give you the one and only Robert F. Kennedy Jr.;

"The next time you see John Stossel, or Glenn Beck, or Rush Limbaugh or Sean Hannity – these flat earthers, these corporate toadies, lying to you, lying to the American public and telling you that global warming doesn't exist – you send an e-mail to their advertisers and tell them you're not going to buy their products anymore," Kennedy said"

The terrorists have spoken!

Believe it or not there are some people who are doing the right thing on illegal immigration. I have stated repeatedly that what is needed is not more laws, but to enforce the laws that are on the books now. The place to begin is with businesses who hire the illegals. It makes perfect sense that if you take the money away, the illegals will naturally soon follow. We are seeing the reality of that happening in Arizona. The Governor of Arizona has signed a law penalizing businesses who hire illegals and the natural consequence of events has begun. The law states that on the second offense businesses will lose their license to operate. This has caused businesses to rethink their practice of hiring illegals, which in turn has caused illegals to rethink their practice of staying in Arizona. One man who has been in Arizona illegally for three years stated, "I'm thinking of going to another state, maybe Nevada or Colorado. I don't know."

The problem for him and the good news for our country is that some of those states and others are considering following Arizona. Elias Bermudez, president of the group Immigrants Without Borders, said his Tuesday morning radio show was flooded with calls from illegal immigrants worried about losing their jobs.
"A lot of people are planning to leave," Bermudez said. "A lot of businesses are in danger of shutting down."

This is the answer, enforce the law. Penalize the businesses and once they stop hiring illegals the illegals will migrate back home. If every state in the Union had the courage of Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano , the problem would take care of itself over time.
One last quote to share with you;

"drian Holguin, supervisor of the cement crew in Ahwatukee, predicted the new law will worsen labor shortages in Arizona.
To make his point, Holguin walked from his pickup truck down into a large trench. A four-man crew was laying the footings for the basement of a custom home.
"It's 120 degrees down here, easy," Holguin said. "And there's no breeze. This is hard work. Who is going to do it if we leave?"

The answer to that question is LEGAL HARD WORKING AMERICANS!!!!

Alright this is true confessions time. Yesterday was the 4th of July and I have to confess to watching something on television, the hot dog eating contest from Coney Island. In channel surfing I came upon it and just had to watch. It was riveting nauseating tv. The big news is that Joey Chestnut has brought the Mustard Belt back to the US in defeating the six time champion Takeru Kobayashi of Japan. Chestnut ate 66 hot dogs in 12 minutes, compared to Kobayashi's 63.

You do have to wonder what happens to your intestinal system with that kind of invasion of material and some 12,000 calories in such a short time. One fascinating aspect of this is that most of the contestants were thin and seemed to be in pretty good physical condition, not what you would expect. Although there were a few that had the "traditional" look of a hot dog eating contestant.

Thousands in attendance, worldwide television coverage on ESPN, and yes me watching!

It is rare that I would copy an entire column from someone, in fact so rare that it has never happened. Today I break the mold and give you a column from Michael Glatze. He is a man who was a leader in the homosexual movement who has come out of homosexuality. His story is worth hearing, so here it is;

How a 'gay rights' leader became straight

Homosexuality came easy to me, because I was already weak.

My mom died when I was 19. My father had died when I was 13. At an early age, I was already confused about who I was and how I felt about others.

My confusion about "desire" and the fact that I noticed I was "attracted" to guys made me put myself into the "gay" category at age 14. At age 20, I came out as gay to everybody else around me.

At age 22, I became an editor of the first magazine aimed at a young, gay male audience. It bordered on pornography in its photographic content, but I figured I could use it as a platform to bigger and better things.

Sure enough, Young Gay America came around. It was meant to fill the void that the other magazine I'd worked for had created – namely, anything not-so-pornographic, aimed at the population of young, gay Americans. Young Gay America took off.
Gay people responded happily to Young Gay America. It received awards, recognition, respectability and great honors, including the National Role Model Award from major gay organization Equality Forum – which was given to Canadian Prime Minister Jean Chrétien a year later – and a whole host of appearances in the media, from PBS to the Seattle Times, from MSNBC to the cover story in Time magazine.

I produced, with the help of PBS-affiliates and Equality Forum, the first major documentary film to tackle gay teen suicide, "Jim In Bold," which toured the world and received numerous "best in festival" awards.

Young Gay America created a photo exhibit, full of photographs and stories of gay youth all across the North American continent, which toured Europe, Canada and parts of the United States.

Young Gay America launched YGA Magazine in 2004, to pretend to provide a "virtuous counterpart" to the other newsstand media aimed at gay youth. I say "pretend" because the truth was, YGA was as damaging as anything else out there, just not overtly pornographic, so it was more "respected."

It took me almost 16 years to discover that homosexuality itself is not exactly "virtuous." It was difficult for me to clarify my feelings on the issue, given that my life was so caught up in it.

Homosexuality, delivered to young minds, is by its very nature pornographic. It destroys impressionable minds and confuses their developing sexuality; I did not realize this, however, until I was 30 years old.

YGA Magazine sold out of its first issue in several North American cities. There was extreme support, by all sides, for YGA Magazine; schools, parent groups, libraries, governmental associations, everyone seemed to want it. It tapped right into the zeitgeist of "accepting and promoting" homosexuality, and I was considered a leader. I was asked to speak on the prestigious JFK Jr. Forum at Harvard's Kennedy School of Government in 2005.

It was, after viewing my words on a videotape of that "performance," that I began to seriously doubt what I was doing with my life and influence.

Knowing no one who I could approach with my questions and my doubts, I turned to God; I'd developed a growing relationship with God, thanks to a debilitating bout with intestinal cramps caused by the upset stomach-inducing behaviors I'd been engaged in.

Soon, I began to understand things I'd never known could possibly be real, such as the fact that I was leading a movement of sin and corruption – which is not to sound as though my discovery was based on dogma, because decidedly it was not.

I came to the conclusions on my own.

It became clear to me, as I really thought about it – and really prayed about it – that homosexuality prevents us from finding our true self within. We cannot see the truth when we're blinded by homosexuality.

We believe, under the influence of homosexuality, that lust is not just acceptable, but a virtue. But there is no homosexual "desire" that is apart from lust.

In denial of this fact, I'd fought to erase such truth at all costs, and participated in the various popular ways of taking responsibility out of human hands for challenging the temptations of lust and other behaviors. I was sure – thanks to culture and world leaders – that I was doing the right thing.

Driven to look for truth, because nothing felt right, I looked within. Jesus Christ repeatedly advises us not to trust anybody other than Him. I did what He said, knowing that the Kingdom of God does reside in the heart and mind of every man.

What I discovered – what I learned – about homosexuality was amazing. How I'd first "discovered" homosexual desires back in high school was by noticing that I looked at other guys. How I healed, when it became decidedly clear that I should – or risk hurting more people – is that I paid attention to myself.

Every time I was tempted to lust, I noticed it, caught it, dealt with it. I called it what it was, and then just let it disappear on its own. A huge and vital difference exists between superficial admiration – of yourself, or others – and integral admiration. In loving ourselves fully, we no longer need anything from the "outside" world of lustful desire, recognition from others, or physical satisfaction. Our drives become intrinsic to our very essence, unbridled by neurotic distractions.

Homosexuality allows us to avoid digging deeper, through superficiality and lust-inspired attractions – at least, as long as it remains "accepted" by law. As a result, countless miss out on their truest self, their God-given Christ-self.

Homosexuality, for me, began at age 13 and ended – once I "cut myself off" from outside influences and intensely focused on inner truth – when I discovered the depths of my God-given self at age 30.

God is regarded as an enemy by many in the grip of homosexuality or other lustful behavior, because He reminds them of who and what they truly are meant to be. People caught in the act would rather stay "blissfully ignorant" by silencing truth and those who speak it, through antagonism, condemnation and calling them words like "racist," "insensitive," "evil" and "discriminatory."

Healing from the wounds caused by homosexuality is not easy – there's little obvious support. What support remains is shamed, ridiculed, silenced by rhetoric or made illegal by twisting of laws. I had to sift through my own embarrassment and the disapproving "voices" of all I'd ever known to find it. Part of the homosexual agenda is getting people to stop considering that conversion is even a viable question to be asked, let alone whether or not it works.

In my experience, "coming out" from under the influence of the homosexual mindset was the most liberating, beautiful and astonishing thing I've ever experienced in my entire life.

Lust takes us out of our bodies, "attaching" our psyche onto someone else's physical form. That's why homosexual sex – and all other lust-based sex – is never satisfactory: It's a neurotic process rather than a natural, normal one. Normal is normal – and has been called normal for a reason.

Abnormal means "that which hurts us, hurts normal." Homosexuality takes us out of our normal state, of being perfectly united in all things, and divides us, causing us to forever pine for an outside physical object that we can never possess. Homosexual people – like all people – yearn for the mythical true love, which does actually exist. The problem with homosexuality is that true love only comes when we have nothing preventing us from letting it shine forth from within. We cannot fully be ourselves when our minds are trapped in a cycle and group-mentality of sanctioned, protected and celebrated lust.

God came to me when I was confused and lost, alone, afraid and upset. He told me – through prayer – that I had nothing at all to be afraid of, and that I was home; I just needed to do a little house cleaning in my mind.

I believe that all people, intrinsically, know the truth. I believe that is why Christianity scares people so much. It reminds them of their conscience, which we all possess.

Conscience tells us right from wrong and is a guide by which we can grow and become stronger and freer human beings. Healing from sin and ignorance is always possible, but the first thing anyone must do is get out of the mentalities that divide and conquer humanity.

Sexual truth can be found, provided we're all willing and driven to accept that our culture sanctions behaviors that harm life. Guilt should be no reason to avoid the difficult questions.

Homosexuality took almost 16 years of my life and compromised them with one lie or another, perpetuated through national media targeted at children. In European countries, homosexuality is considered so normal that grade-school children are being provided "gay" children's books as required reading in public schools.

Poland, a country all-too familiar with the destruction of its people by outside influences, is bravely attempting to stop the European Union from indoctrinating its children with homosexual propaganda. In response, the European Union has called the prime minister of Poland "repulsive."

I was repulsive for quite some time; I am still dealing with all of my guilt.

As a leader in the "gay rights" movement, I was given the opportunity to address the public many times. If I could take back some of the things I said, I would. Now I know that homosexuality is lust and pornography wrapped into one. I'll never let anybody try to convince me otherwise, no matter how slick their tongues or how sad their story. I have seen it. I know the truth.

God gave us truth for a reason. It exists so we could be ourselves. It exists so we could share that perfect self with the world, to make the perfect world. These are not fanciful schemes or strange ideals – these are the Truth.

Healing from the sins of the world will not happen in an instant; but, it will happen – if we don't pridefully block it. God wins in the end, in case you didn't know.

And to that I can only add Amen!

This past week has been a reminder of the reality of the world in which we live today. There were two attacks attempted by Islam on innocent people, one in Scotland and another in the UK. Today the message comes from the leaders of this "religion of peace", that this is just the beginning. There will be more and we can expect more from them. There is a belief in those circles that Europe can be attained. They believe Europe is in play, particularly England and France, and so they will go hard after both. And that will be simply a stepping stone to the great prize, which is America. It is business as usual, terrorizing innocent people in an attempt to take over the world.

Which brings us, once again, to understand that these next elections in America are critical. As we come upon our nation's celebration of its independence, we must see clearly that this is exactly what Islam wants to take from us. And the person we put in the oval office in 2008 will be a large part of the solution to that threat, or the enabling of it! There is no running and hiding from this one. We can not afford to look the other way. The bullies are here and they are heading into our neighborhood. If we do not pick a President who has the nerve to stand up to bullies, we will all be living in a very different America soon.

The greatness of our country is at stake. Every citizen has the obligation to be informed on the candidates, register to vote and make your voice heard. And if you think you do not have a voice, or it does not matter, consider the immigration bill that "you the people" killed last week!
