Tony Taylor34 a , of Hampton Va. , entered his plea today to conspiracy to travel in interstate commerce in aid of unlawful activities, and conspiring to sponsor a dog in an animal fighting venture. The significance of this is that he is a co-defendant with the Atlanta Falcons, Michael Vick. Vick the teams star quarterback is also charged with this heinous crime. These men and others are a part of a sub-culture of dog fighting. A culture where dogs are bred to fight and kill. A culture where neighborhood pet dogs have reportedly been stolen from people and thrown into the pit with killer dogs to keep them fresh and blood thirsty.

The interesting thing about all of this is not the horror of the events, or the ignorance of the participants, but rather the involvement of Michael Vick. While he has not been convicted of anything, there does seem to be overwhelming evidence he is involved. Why would a multi-millionaire risk it all to be involved in interstate dog fighting?

The answer is a Biblical one, money does not satisfy. It does not matter how much money you have, it can never satisfy. From Michael Vick and dog fighting, to all of the young starlet girls who continue to be arrested, there is a lack of contentment with only money. Most people do not believe this, and many in fact would say they would love the opportunity to prove the theory wrong. But it is tried and true, money cannot buy you happiness and contentment. That comes from and only from a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. It is only upon receiving Christ as your Savior that you can truly be content. Only then do you understand money and its purpose, to be used for the glory of God.

Vick and others throughout the years have been great examples of how money and things do not satisfy. King Solomon one of the richest people ever testified that it was all vanity and that the sum of life was found in serving and worshipping the Lord God almighty. Some people have to lose it all and go to jail to learn that, others can simply know God and His Word to understand. These events are a good reminder to us of not only the depravity of man, but also the fleeting nature of riches!
