The smartest person is now in the race for President. Alan Keyes has announced that he is now a candidate for President and will run as such. I have had the chance to not only interview him, but spend some time just talking to him, and without a doubt he is the most intelligent candidate. His credentials are, "spending 11 years with the U.S. State Department. From 1983 to 1985, he served as ambassador to the United Nations Economic and Social Council, where he represented America's sovereign interests in the U.N. General Assembly. He became President Reagan's assistant secretary of state for international organizations in 1985. " He will participate in Mondays Value Voters Debate in Florida. A few questions come to my mind with the entry of Mr. Keyes;

1. Why does the black community not support this man? Where are all of those who proclaim and play the race card every chance they get? Keyes is not supported by the black community, in fact he is regularly attacked by them.

2. Where are the rest of the GOP candidates? In Monday's debate why have Rudy Giuliani, John McCain, Mitt Romney and Fred Thompson, declined to be there? And how much should that weigh in a persons decision to support such candidates?

I personally am thrilled Keyes is in the arena, as he will elevate the debate, in substance and style. His greatest challenge will be to bring his incredible intellect down to where "mere mortals" like me can understand him. When I said that exact thing to him last year, he gave a hearty laugh. That is Alan Keyes!
