Engaging Your World

Something happened yesterday that should have signalled the world was coming to an end, and there would be NHL games played in Hell. U.S. Rep. John Murtha admitted that there was progress being made in Iraq. He was there for a few days last week and in reporting on the trip had admitted that progress was happening. This from a man who arguably could have been on the verge of treason with his trips to Iraq and speeches he made from there that were critical of the Commander in Chief. He has done things in a time of war that have not been seen before, in attempts to discredit a wartime President. You will find no bigger critic of the war in Iraq and the President in charge of commanding it. Yet even he had to come clean and admit that the surge is working and progress is happening, something he did not believe could or would happen.

Leaving the discussion of the war being right or wrong to pundits, I see here a great example of the incredible bias of the media. People are looking to the latest Republican debate on CNN as the indicator of how liberal and partisan the media has become. You do not need to look there,as the best example is in the lack of coverage the success in Iraq is getting. Has anyone seen blazing headlines across the nations papers, or non-stop coverage of how well things are going? Are there talking heads on the cable shows round the clock extolling the virtue of a President who did not cave to the pressure and trusted the Generals on the ground? Has anyone seen story after story about a President who stood his ground and did what was right even though the propaganda against him turned most of the country against him? Has anyone seen much, if any coverage of the surge working, the President being right and Iraq being better because of it?

The answer to all of those questions is no. You only find that kind of coverage when it seems as if the President has done something wrong in Iraq. The suicide bombers are the ones that generate the kind of coverage that the current success deserves. The reality, pure and simple is that you cannot trust the media for news coverage any longer. Each outlet has their own agenda and ideology that they seek to push on their viewers, in order to change the minds of people to think like they think. Well if you have not seen or heard it anywhere else, you have heard it here, the surge is working, the success in Iraq is phenomenal, and as one soldier in the battle that I interviewed on my radio show recently said;

"in spite of what the media is telling you, we are taking it to the enemy, like our Commander in Chief has instructed us to."

Manishkumar M. Patel, 34 is a married man who has a girlfriend. In fact he has a baby with this girl even though he is married. Actually he could have three babies with her but she has miscarried twice. While I will leave the obvious heinous sin of adultery on the sidelines for this blog, I do want to talk about life. As Mr. Patel did something that I thought was only seen in the old black and white movies. While with his girlfriend recently he slipped her a "Mickey". Now it was not the actual ingredients of a real "Mickey, it was one in that he put something in his girlfriends drink. In the old movies people would do this to have someone pass out so they could take advantage of them or the situation. In this case Patel put his foreign substance to kill a baby!

Mifespristone, the abortion bill better known as, RU486 was placed by Patel in his girlfriends drink. She was suspicious and went and had lab work done to find out that sure enough, he did that to her. The police are saying that he could be charged with attempted first-degree intentional homicide of an unborn child, burglary, stalking and violating a restraining order. The interesting part of the possible charges is the "homicide of an unborn child" portion. Here again we see the incredible double standard in that anyone outside of a doctor that does anything intentional that kills the baby in the womb, are charged with murder. Now you can make the point that Patel did this without consent of the mom and thus it is different. Still the contrast stands, as Doctors can murder babies in the womb if asked, and occasionally when not asked. Lay people cannot, as if they do it, it constitutes murder.

The reality is that it is a baby in the womb. We are far beyond the blob, or thing, or it, or any other ridiculous rationalization people use to kill babies. Technology has shown and displayed what Gods Word has said forever, that it is a baby in the womb, a real true life. Where we need to get to is the place where all murder by all people of babies in the womb is murder. Abortion should be a crime because it is murder, period! Mr. Patel should be tried and if he did what he is being accused of he should be given the sentence that murderers receive. The same holds true for Doctors. All Doctors who perform abortions should be tried for murder, without distinction, because it is murder, period!

Distinctions, exceptions, phony compassion, should all be put aside and things should be called as they truly are. Murder is murder regardless of the age, race, or place of residence of the person. Because a person resides in a womb should not mean that someone with a medical degree and a stethoscope is allowed to murder that person, regardless if they are asked to or not. Let us all pray and work (in that order) to see that abortion becomes what it is, a heinous crime deserving the highest level of punishment the law would allow.

I have written before on Rob Bell the Emergent Church guru. His popularity is a fascinating phenomenon, yet it lines up perfectly with the Word of God that tells us in the end days people will seek out teachers who will tickle their ears, which is an apt description of Bell and his peers. Last night in Somerville Mass. Bell once again drew a large crowd. Last night over 2000 people came to hear his act. While I did not attend, I was emailed by a friend of mine who did make the trip to hear Bell. Here is an eyewitness account of last nights Rob Bell talk, though it is lengthy it is worth reading. Pastor Gary George who attended last night writes;

"The opening scene was not what I expected: no heavy metal, head bangin' loud sounding rockers to prepare the way of Mr. Bell, but rather he just popped out on the stage. He was clad with a Harvard Square type appearance. Tight black jeans with a large white belt, sneakers, an open collared shirt, butch haircut and black rimmed glasses. His propped stage 'sermon' was intriguing, well ordered, easy to follow, choreographed and had the crowd mesmerized.
His message contained a history of pagan worship, where he aptly showed the erroneous mindset of the pre- and non-Judeo/Christian world. His point was that man had viewed their 'gods' as requiring sacrifices for appeasement to bring favor upon themselves from the deity of their fancy. He extrapolated on this theme with numerous examples for over an hour and then proceeded to contrast the Jewish levitical sacrificial system. The crescendo was now about to come, he was leading the audience to the cross. Up to this point, I must say, I heard no 'uncertain sound' ringing from Mr. Bell. Could my preconceived views of the Emerging Church movement be altered this night? The best wine was not reserved to the end unfortunately. The speaker went on to subtly inform the audience that the historic orthodox view of Calvary has been errant and that the correct understanding is that the Cross has reconciled all humanity to Himself and that man's responsibility is to accept the peace that Christ has made for us. This acceptance is gained; not by individual recognition of being sin stricken, guilt laden, hell deserving and God alienated person; but rather by sheer 'enlightenment' which comes with his new-twist denotation of the word 'repent.' For Bell the biblical and historical view of repentance is now properly understood to mean, 'being made aware', a spiritual awakening that brings one into oneness with God. It is not because of Christ's sacrifice is understood to be the grounds of our acceptance with a Holy God Whose wrath has been poured out upon our Substitute that atoned for our ungodly deeds which we have ungodly committed. For Bell, the Cross is not the 'satisfying' God's righteous anger against our sins, but rather it is the signal of God's reconciliation of us unconditionally-no turning from sins, no taking up our cross, no forsaking all to follow Christ; no repentance, just simply acceptance. God has adopted every human being, our comprehending this is determined by our understanding the Belltone: just be informed.
Rob Bell is preaching another gospel. "Let those who have ears to hear hear." I wish I could say that the audience was composed of spies like myself that were there to mark his words and conclude that he is teaching a divisive and heresy damning 'gospel'. I wish it was an audience that would have booed, banged and bolted from the uncertain sounds that his voice was ringing. His bell is is a non and anti-biblical message that offends nobody, condemns nobody and saves nobody. It only tickles the ears of the hearers who with the flesh can say amen to his 'no burning, so no turning' kerygma. His no blood, no sacrifice, no-repentance-'gospel' should be vibes that make waves of concern among evangelical Christians who can't find the Shepard's voice within the Bell rhetoric. What concerns me more than the sounding of the Bell, is, 'for whom the bell tolls'? "If the trumpet gives an uncertain sound", then let Bereans who have their ears bored through with the awl not cboose to be under the mastery of a heretic, but be in tune with the ONE Who blows the 2 Silver Trumpets(the Spirit and the Word), Num. 10, Isa. 8:20."

While that says it all, the other great concern I, Gary and others have, is the number of true followers of Christ who are being led astray by Bell. His books are in all the Christian Bookstores, he is a hit with the Youth Pastors, the Evangelical world has embraced him and his heretical teachings. This is the result of a generation of professed believers in Christ who do not know the Word of God. They have forsaken the reading and studying of the Word, for Halo tournaments. If the tide is not turned and people do not get back to the Word of God, Bell and his heretical peers will affect generations. As his message of everyone is in, sin is not an issue, will infect masses of well intentioned people. The bottom line is that if sin is not an issue, if God does not hate those who do iniquity as His Word says He does, if Rob Bell is right and the Bible is wrong then there is no need of a Savior. So take your pick, Rob Bell or Jesus Christ, whom will you follow?

Massachusetts is where I live. It has a rich history that goes back to the initial landings of pilgrims on our shores. You cannot go very far in this state without being confronted with some significant piece of history. This state is still making significant historical markers, although the current markers are far below their historical predecessors. In fact you can make the case that Massachusetts is one of the most liberal, decadent, evil states in the union. Our judges are soft on crime and repeatedly release felons to the streets early enough for them to repeat their history. Our Supreme Court Justices are so pompous and perverse that they believed they could make homosexual marriage legal, circumventing and violating the Constitution of the state, as well as ignoring the will of the people. They found out by the way, that they were right, and no one had the courage to stop them, particularly the one person who actually had the power to do so and did not. That would be the former Governor and current Presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

Keeping with the recent historical theme of this State, there has been a bill introduced by Rep. Jay Kaufman, a Lexington Democrat, on behalf of Kathleen Wolf a 61 year old nurse. It is a parental spanking ban bill. From the wires we hear that;
"if signed into law, parents would be prohibited from forcefully laying a hand on any child under age 18 unless it was to wrest them from danger, lest they be charged with abuse or neglect." If passed this would give Massachusetts another historical first. Along with being the first state to legally recognize the most perverted of relationships, the state would now be the first to legally require parents to neglect their children. In fact you could make the case Biblically that this decadent state would be the first to legally command parents to not love their children, as God in His Word is clear that a parent who will not discipline their child physically does not love that child.

Great going Massachusetts, with this track record you will be up there with all the greats like Sodom, Gomorrah, and all other places in history that have celebrated and even legislated, in favor of sin. This should also help you understand how people like Sen. Ted Kennedy, and Rep. Barney Frank are repeatedly re-elected to office, as you can bet they would have held high office in Sodom and Gomorrah as well!

We cannot go one week without more news coming out concerning the malicious evil institution that Islam is. Today our news comes from Sudan, its capital to be more precise. It seems that a school teacher of seven year old children had an idea concerning a teddy bear that one of her students had brought in. She told the class to give the bear a name, then each one of them could take the bear home for a night or a weekend. Twenty out of the twenty three students picked the name "Mohammad". The teacher had the students to keep a journal of what they did with the bear and then they would share with the rest of the class. It was simple innocent exercise that the teacher, fifty four year old Gillian Gibbons of Liverpool thought would be fun and instructive.

That is not how officials in the predominantly Muslim capital of Sudan viewed it, from the wires;

Gillian Gibbons, 54, from Liverpool, was arrested at at Khartoum's Unity High School yesterday, and accused of insulting the Prophet of Islam. Robert Boulos, the Unity director said Gibbons was following a British National Curriculum course designed to teach young pupils about animals and their habitats. This year’s animal was the bear.
He said that he had decided to close down the school until January for fear of reprisals in Sudan’s predominantly Muslim capital. "This is a very sensitive issue. We are very worried about her safety,” he said. “This was a completely innocent mistake. Ms. Gibbons would have never wanted to insult Islam.” Under Sudan's Sharia law, blasphemy could attract a large fine, 40 lashes or a jail term of up to six months."

Here is a fine example of Sharia Law that Islam seeks to impose on the world. A fifty four year old school teacher trying to teach children about animals and being kind to them, could be imprisoned or beaten for an innocent mistake. Again reinforcing the barbarity of Islam. Where are the all of the Muslim apologists crying out about how unfair this is for this woman? Where is CAIR? Why are they not at the forefront calling for this woman's release? For that matter where is Rep. Ellison of Minnesota? Why have we not heard from him on how unfairly this woman is being treated? All of these propagandists are in the same place they were after every act of terror that Muslims commit, sitting by quietly, their silence screaming loudly of their approval. Let us not be fooled into believing Islam is anything else but a barbaric system of belief that seeks to dominate by the sword. It is a religion that will lie to your face and into your television cameras to advance the cause. And it is a religion that allows for an innocent fifty four year old woman who is dedicated to educating children, to be arrested and possibly beaten or imprisoned for allowing a teddy bear to be named "Mohammad."

It is interesting that this can happen to a woman for allowing seven year old children to name a teddy bear "Mohammad", yet that very same Mohammad had no penalty for sleeping with a nine year old girl!

It happens every year and never ceases to amaze me, Black Friday! The day that is the unofficial start of the Christmas season. Where people around this great country of ours make incredible sacrifices in order to save money on those must have items. While there are many places to go in a discussion of the sad reality that makes up Black Friday, lets talk about two. First and foremost in my mind is the question of just how many of the participants are followers of Christ? And of those that are, would they make the same effort for their Lord? By that I mean, would they get up at 4:00 am for the Lord? These stores are opening earlier and earlier, attempting to draw as many shoppers as possible. Here is an account from one such shopper;

"At a Toys "R" Us store in Cherry Hill, N.J., the Torres family from Camden came for Microsoft Zune MP3 players, which were selling for less than half the usual $200.
They secured their spot in line at 1:30 a.m., then sent some family members to Kohl's to pick up toys, watches, a portable DVD player and a griddle in a frenzied 4 a.m. shopping spree that they said took all of six minutes.
They also nabbed four Zune MP3 players.
"It's called teamwork," said Christal Torres, 19."

In a time when many believers struggle to find time to spend with the Lord in His Word and prayer, it seems to not be a problem for many to rise before the dawn in order to make that coveted purchase. Would that all believers be willing to make such a sacrifice for their Lord. The other thing I wonder about on this day is the monetary sacrifice. Again wondering only about believers, how many who will be out today sacrificing financially for their purchases, will do the same this Sunday? Hw many who are out today giving beyond the first of their best with great joy, cannot find it within themselves to do that for the Lord?

Just a few questions in my mind as today is celebrated as the beginning of the Christmas season. A time, in theory, that we are to reflect and enjoy the reality that Jesus Christ humbled himself and came to this earth born of a virgin, to save sinners from a literal Hell. How in the world it has become what it has, is a testimony to the genius of the marketers and moneychangers. Like the ones that our Lord came upon in His Fathers house. If you do not know that accounting in the Gospels, you might want to check it out!

The first Thanksgiving was celebrated 383 years ago this Thanksgiving in 1623. One Hundred and Three survived the difficulty journey from England to the new land that we know as America. They were desiring and intending on Virginia as their destination, but strong winds, under the Providence of God, landed them at Cape Cod. Before leaving the ship each pilgrim signed what is known as the Mayflower Compact. A document that describes how the people intend to conduct themselves in this new land. So while you enjoy Thanksgiving, and all that goes with it, take note of the original Thanksgiving. While our culture has made it about Turkey, Football and Family, let us remember the God who ordained this day as well as all other days. But this one is to be celebrated as a Sovereign God led His people to the land of His choosing. A land that would become the leader in supporting His word around the world. Enjoy this and some other historical documents as my gift to you. Happy Thanksgiving!

The Mayflower Compact

"In the name of God, Amen. We, whose names are underwritten, the Loyal Subjects of our dread Sovereign Lord, King James, by the Grace of God, of England, France and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, e&.

Having undertaken for the Glory of God, and Advancement of the Christian Faith, and the Honour of our King and Country, a voyage to plant the first colony in the northern parts of Virginia; do by these presents, solemnly and mutually in the Presence of God and one of another, covenant and combine ourselves together into a civil Body Politick, for our better Ordering and Preservation, and Furtherance of the Ends aforesaid; And by Virtue hereof to enact, constitute, and frame, such just and equal Laws, Ordinances, Acts, Constitutions and Offices, from time to time, as shall be thought most meet and convenient for the General good of the Colony; unto which we promise all due submission and obedience.

In Witness whereof we have hereunto subscribed our names at Cape Cod the eleventh of November, in the Reign of our Sovereign Lord, King James of England, France and Ireland, the eighteenth, and of Scotland the fifty-fourth. Anno Domini, 1620

The First Thanksgiving Day Proclamation, issued 1623

Inasmuch as the great Father has given us this year an abundant harvest of Indian corn, wheat, peas, beans, squashes, and garden vegetables, and has made the forest to abound with game and the sea with fish and clams, and inasmuch as he has protected us from the ravages of the savages, has spared us from pestilence and disease, has granted us freedom to worship God according to the dictates of our own conscience; now I, your magistrate, do proclaim that all Pilgrims, with your wives and little ones, do gather at the meeting house, on the hill, between the hours of 9 and 12 in the day time, on Thursday, November the 29th, of the year of our Lord one thousand six hundred and twenty-three, and the third year since Pilgrims landed on ye Pilgrim Rock, there to listen to the pastor and render thanksgiving to Almighty God for all His blessings.

An Excerpt from The First Proclamation of Thanksgiving as a National Holiday, President George Washington 1789

Whereas it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the Providence of Almighty God, to obey His will . . . I do recommend . . . Thursday, the twenty-sixth day of November . . . to be devoted by the People of these United States to the service of that great and glorious Being, who is the beneficient Author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be. . . . that we may . . . humbly offer our prayers . . . to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations, and beseech Him to pardon our national . . . transgressions.

Anthony Watts is a veteran meterologist who is concerned with Global Warming. He differs from others who are concerned, like Al Gore and his followers. Watts concern lies in the way Gore and his band receive the information that fuels their agenda. If you listen to the Gories (is that a word?) you will find yourself in need of green everything, from the house you live in to the amount of toilet paper used, green is the issue. Which is, because we are told, man is setting this planet on fire. Evil man and his evil ways are ruining planet earth, and it is the polar bears and ice glaciers who are suffering the most. While it makes for compelling speeches and can even garner you a Nobel Peace Prize, the question in people like Watts mind is, reliability of data!

Watts took a look at how surface temperatures were recorded and found that there was little if any scientific protocol followed. He was so shocked that he set out to visit all 1221 temperature stations, a feat he is one third of the way through. These stations are the ones that record data on surface temperature, and their data is the foundation and cornerstone for the man made global warming propaganda forces. His findings are troubling to say the least, from the wires;

"What he found were temperature stations with sensors on the roofs of buildings, near air-conditioning exhaust vents, in parking lots near hot automobiles, barbecues, chimneys and on pavement and concrete surfaces – all of which would lead to higher temperature recordings than properly established conditions.
The vast majority of the stations surveyed to date fail to meet the prescribed standards. Using a scale of 1 to 5, with 1 reflecting proper maintenance and standards and 5 representing facilities that are severely compromised, Watts says 70 percent of those stations surveyed received a 4 or 5 rating, while only 4 percent received a grade of 1.
All of the most egregious violations he has observed in the study would result in artificially higher temperatures being recorded."

Again and again we hear from scientists from all walks of life telling us that there is not a man made global warming problem. It is junk science that is believed by only the kool aid drinking left that can see nothing but their own pockets being lined with tax payers money. The most prominent proponents will call for lifestyle sacrifices that they are unwiling to make. These decrees are often given from the largest of houses, or newest of private planes. The hypocrisy is laughable, the science is absent, the critics are many and credible, yet the man made global warming beat goes on. At least until it becomes more fashionable and profitable to announce the world is going to freeze, which has not happened since about 1972!

There is a reported, troubling, growing trend with people and the remains of their loved ones. Disneyland in Anaheim recently had to shut down their "Pirates of the Caribbean" ride, after security cameras spotted a woman apparently pouring out human remains on the attraction. The woman claims it was only baby powder, but when the story was investigated, it turns out that this was not an isolated incident. Here is what was reported by Channel 6 in California;

"Some Disney watchers said park-goers tell them that people smuggling in the cremated remains of their loved ones and then sprinkling ashes on rides has been going on for a while.
They said it started at the Haunted Mansion, but now the "Pirates of the Caribbean" ride is growing in popularity. Al Lutz, who runs Miceage.com, told KABC that it is not unusual for people to scatter a loved one's remains at the happiest place on earth."

We have devolved as a society in the area of death and the treatment of the body. While I am not convinced you can make a Biblical argument that would call for a certain choice, burial or cremation,I do believe there are principles that should guide us, beginning with the fact that our bodies are created by God. Yes, they are only mortal tents that hold who we really are, our souls, nonetheless these tents are designed by God. We also know that for believers in Christ our bodies are called temples of the Holy Spirit, which would indicate a particular value. So, while I am not advocating anyone to follow any one path, I do think we are called to respect the bodies of loved ones that have died. And as such, we should treat them with dignity throughout the grieving process. Dignity does not mean idolatry, as again we understand what it is that makes us who we are.

The question to be asked is, does this demonstrate respect and dignity for a part of Gods good creation? To be sure throwing remains on amusement park rides does not. Nor does the sad but true practice offered by some funeral homes of turning the remains or our loved one into things like jewelry. The reality is as life is cheapened and seen to be of no value, so too will the bodies that contained the life!

More today on the social regression that is Islam. There is a rise in a procedure known as "virginity replacement". From the wires;

"Dr Magdy Hend, consultant gynaecologist at the Regency Clinic, Harley Street, London, who started hymen reconstruction more than 18 years ago in the Middle East and the Gulf, said: "In some cultures they like to see that the women will bleed on the wedding night. If the wife or bride is not a virgin, it is a big shame on the family."

As Muslim women trend towards more sexual activity before marriage, this procedure trends along with it, as men expect their wives to be virgins. Now they are promoting and in some cases insisting on this operation. Leaving the issue of what truly constitutes a virgin aside, this is simply another example of women being nothing more than pieces of flesh. Not every woman having this procedure is attached to Islam, but a great many are, and it is all about again the right outward appearance, regardless of the heart.

Author Isabelle Levy had this to say; "fundamentalism is spreading and these girls are getting sent back to their countries of origin to marry. And they will be rejected if it is found out that they are not virgins."

Women in Islam are expected to not make mistakes, they are expected to follow the letter of the law without fault. They are held to an incredibly high and unfair standard. If only the men were held to the same standard! But this is also why the Gospel of Jesus Christ is so appealing, as He meets the true standard from the real God, which is perfection! Islam attempts to get there, or at least it tries to force their women to get there, and it is always failure, one after another. But Jesus Christ attains that standard of perfection and the good news is that the Father applies that to all that receive Christ as their Lord and Savior.

Becoming a new virgin again is one thing, but becoming a new creation in Christ is where true joy is and always will be!

As a culture we are OCD, meaning we have obsessive compulsive disorder. If something is the latest and greatest, then we all have to have it or be involved in it. Recently there have been studies that show how out of shape our children are becoming. There is no longer a phys ed time in many schools. I remember as a child having definite class periods each day that were devoted to phys ed activities. That is no longer the case, although there are some school districts that are researching implementation once again. There has been a reaction among parents and teachers to address the problem of child obesity. While all of that is fine, here is a story that, in my mind, takes it too far.

There is a US chain that is signing up babies across London as young as four months old for "developmental gymnastics". You actually purchase a gym membership for children that young, and they come and are put through all kinds of exercises and tumbling activities. This has become the rage, with over 500 children signed up in one gym, with 150 of them being under three.

So here we are, we have children starting schools younger and younger, with the idea of developing them quicker. Now they will enroll in gyms at those same stages of life, and where does it stop? When can a child simply be a child and enjoy life from the perspective of a child? While we do not want childhood obesity, we also should not want children who go from one activity to another, missing their childhood in the process. Where does this all stop? What will be next? Maybe toddler driving lesson, so little johnny can get a head start on his license!

Pacifists and Liberals in general are an interesting group to follow. They make grand pronouncements of ideology, promoting dialog as the solution to everything. The "if we all could just get along and sit down and talk" mantra is heard often, particularly when wars go longer than expected, as the war with Iraq. But it is Iran that intrigues me today, as I have read and heard many a liberal bring out the lets talk card, concerning Iran. A view that discounts the reality that is the Islamic strategy of lying to its enemies to further their agenda of worldwide conquest. I am wondering today if that is still the goal of the left, given the recent discovery of Iran's position on homosexuality, one of causes of the left. From the wires;

"Homosexuals deserve to be executed or tortured and possibly both, an Iranian leader told British MPs during a private meeting at a peace conference, The Times has learned.
Mohsen Yahyavi is the highest-ranked politician to admit that Iran believes in the death penalty for homosexuality after a spate of reports that gay youths were being hanged.
Sharia’s Victims

— Homosexuals Farbod Mostaar and Ahmad Chooka sentenced to death. Iran said Chooka had kidnapped, knifed and raped a student

Two men executed in public after being found guilty of a homosexual relationship. A newspaper said they were convicted of sodomy, rape and kidnapping"

I could go on and on with examples, but the reality is that this is how homosexuals are treated in Iran. I wonder if the left still believes it should simply sit down and talk with these who do such things to people because of their struggle with sin? Will the left, now that one of their fundamental causes is being handled this way, still take the road of dialog? I am sure they would, if the issue were only nuclear weapons that could terrorize a region and even the world, but now that homosexuality is on the table, now this could be a serious problem.

And again we are given a clear difference between followers of Christ and followers of Mohamed. Mohammed's disciples kill homosexuals, while followers of Jesus Christ share the gospel and pray for them!

The Iranian Police have come out with a "vice list", according to published reports. This is a list that informs people what is acceptable and what is criminal in their society. While there are some things on the list that all would agree on, such as drug dealers and prostitution, there are also things that are beyond ridiculous. Things that display to the world how restrictive and abusive the law truly is. For example from the wires we learn;

"Wearing boots with short pants, wearing hats or scarves which do not fully cover hair and neck instead of the proper head veil and putting on unusual make-up that contradicts public chastity (is forbidden).
Wearing Western-style clothes and insignias of deviant groups (usually a reference to referring to Satanists or rappers)," was on the list alongside "production and distribution of decadent movies as well as private home-made videos."

What is called "Satanic", by these extremists are things such as make-up, scarves and coats that do not cover enough of the Iranian women. This is a tremendous example of the Word of God, when it says that man looks on the outside but God looks on the inside. The Iranian Police and Islamic law for that matter, do nothing but attempt to force outward conformity, believing that if the outside looks the way they believe it should, then everything is good in the sight of God. They could not be more wrong, as the outward appearance might give some information, but in no way can a heart judgement be made on that basis alone. With those standards the Apostle Paul and Jesus himself would have been in serious trouble. This is just another in a long line of example of why those imprisoned under Islamic law need to be set free by Jesus Christ. Forced outward conformity will produce nothing but building inner animosity that will one day boil over. If you do not believe that, simply look to the east and see the events on any given day!

Technology is an amazing thing. I am in Jamaica writihg my blog on my phone. Contrast that with a couple I met today. I was out going door to door in a village town inviting people to tonight's church service. I spotted an old run down,frankly scary, house. It looked like a typical horror movie house. I walked up to the door and an old man about 80 came to the door. I invited him to church and he told me he was blind and his wife was crippled. They did not leave their homes. But then he told me they were followers of Christ,at which time I noticed Scripture verses on the walls.

The man went into the back room leaving me on the porch. In a moment he reappeared and invited me in to visit with his wife. I walked through the run down house and into the bedroom to be greeted by an old frail women of 80.

She was thrilled by my visit and asked me to sit down in a chair by the bed. I sat and the three of us talked about the Lord and His goodness. One thing she said struck me. She said that she envied people who could still read Gods Word.She too was too blind to see,but she loved the Word of God and longed to read it again. We talked of the new body that awaited her in glory with the Lord. She can hardly wait to meet her Jesus.

I left that home thinking of God's sovereignty. How He had set this divine appointment up for me. And I also am reminded of the many who sit around the world in homes and shacks,unable to move,but waiting for their Lord. For Henry and his wife of over 60 years it will be a great day. Will it be so for you?

The reality that Islamists are seeking to take over the west and bring culture around to Sharia Law is becoming more and more a matter of undisputed evidence. The more interviews are conducted, the more articles are written, the more scrutiny, the more the world sees the truth. But have you ever considered just what type of life these warriors would die to implement? Have you ever pondered on what life would be like were they to be successful? All you need to do is look to the east, as you will see what life would be like, as it is lived out now.

Consider Saudi author and cleric, "Dr." Muhammad Al-'Arifi, who appeared on Saudi and Kuwaiti television this fall. He was counseling young Muslim men on how to treat their wives. I will let the Dr.'s words speak for themselves;

"Admonish them – once, twice, three times, four times, ten times," he advised. "If this doesn't help, refuse to share their beds."
And if that doesn't work?
"Beat them," one of his three young advisees responded.
"That's right," Al-'Arifi said.
"Woman, it has gone too far. I can't bear it anymore," he tells the men to tell their wives. "If he beats her, the beatings must be light and must not make her face ugly.
"He must beat her where it will not leave marks"

This is the advice given on national television. How to beat their wives in ways that will not leave marks or cause damage! This is the wonderful life Muslims would seek the west to lead. This is the teachings of Mohammed that young men die to propagate. Is this ideology that we should all simply tolerate? Do Muslims deserve a hearing? Should we allow them the freedom to spread this teaching throughout our land? Is this what we want our children exposed to? While Islam berates and belittles women is it Jesus Christ who truly liberated women from being treated as second class citizens. It is Christ who modeled the servant leadership that Husbands should follow. Islam or Christianity? Mohammed or Jesus Christ? I have an idea, lets let the women decide first!

Good news from the legal front. The nutty group that follows Fred Phelps and his depraved activities were dealt a blow. I blogged recently about the father that was suing the group for showing up at his military sons funeral to protest. Here is the verdict announcement from the wires;

"On Wednesday, the church and three of its leaders — Fred Phelps and his two daughters, Phelps-Roper and Rebekah Phelps-Davis — were found liable for invasion of privacy and intent to inflict emotional distress.Jurors awarded Snyder $2.9 million in compensatory damages and $8 million in punitive damages."

While it is unlikely this money will ever be collectd in total, as the groups assets are far less, there should be some financial damages received. Also this should embolden others to do the same and not simply take the abuse from Phelps and his followers. It is about time someone stood up to them as they are nothing but bullies. A nice precedent has been sent that hopefully sets a trend. Phelps was his usual insane self at the announcement proclaiming this will not stop him and that the verdict will be overturned upon appeal.

The bad news is that they are still receiving publicity, the good news is that it is finally the right type, as this noteriety cost about 11 million dollars!
